The brand new Michelin Power Cup Evo that I just put on the back of my RSV4 is from 2012 too. I was initially worried about it, but everywhere I asked for date codes for those tires said 2012. I got curious and looked at the inventory of tires my installer had from Pirelli, Bridgestone and Michelin...all 2012.

Was it garage kept before you? If the tires weren't cooking in the sun/uv before you I wouldn't worry too much about it. Maybe just don't go 90+ mph on them haha

It’s such a fun ride so far. Im sure I looked ridiculous at 6’4” but it fits surprisingly good!

 

It was. I'll play around in the parking lots near me a bit. I did get north of 100 a few times on the ride home... Maybe I should just learn to do burn-outs?

 

If the tires show no cracking or dry rot I would use them until your new ones arrive and you have time to swap. I wouldn't do a track day on them but there was a recent Revzilla video where they did just that. Ran some outdated tires on the track and we're pretty surprised at how well they still worked.
