What dealer are you using? My Toyota dealer is absolute trash. Service, parts, and sales just horrible. Has me not wanting to buy another Toyota again. Nice to see some dealers are still decent.

Got no complaints with the two toyota dealers in my neck of the woods, both do impeccable work, but the closest one to me, you need to take out a loan every time you have even an oil change there. Its either them or go another 8 miles to save a few bucks which can end up being a wash.

wow, that was quick, they didn't put up a fight at all eh? Please post any notes of what they found to be the cause if they share with you.

Great news! Your hood looks strange in that it should have had seam sealer on the hood prior to the oem paint job. I just replaced the hood on mine and that was a topic of discussion at the body shop I was working with that they had to add seam sealer around the perimeter of the hood to match the original, helps prevent rust, keeps moisture out of the pinches.

Did you even read the thread? I dont think anyone is saying this is normal for a stock vehicle. Some asked if it had been in a fender bender as a shady repaint could be to blame

Go back and read... Plenty of people chiming in saying that it could be due to where the truck is located/ how its taken care of.

Sitting at the dealership as I write this. They took my truck over to the body shop for an estimate. When I first saw this 8 months ago I was so mad. Thanks to this forum, I should be getting a new hood. So far not too much pushback although the service guy first said the rust warranty was 3/36.
