Army Green thread: let’s keep it green!

After a 8 month wait, I finally joined team Army Green!

Excited to be a new member of the Tacoma family.

 

I do. I got it swapped with the “platinum protection package” when I got my truck in March. Swapping 30 bucks worth of 3M film for it was totally worth it. It has a better tone than stock, for sure. I don’t think I picked up much extra power on the low end, but maybe a little on the top end. I also did the TRD air filter + flow accelerator. I have the six foot bed so it took about 3 weeks for my dealership to find it and get it in to install.

I had one that came with my truck until the muffler got hung up on something on the trail and wrapped the pipe around my axle. Definitely sounds better than stock but I thought it was too quiet and had always planned to replace it anyway. Just picked up an MBRP muffler off FB and will put it on this coming up weekend. I'm sure my wife and the neighbors will love it lol.

I think I'm leaning toward doing this. I'm also getting ceramic coating and PPF on the front end so I won't have to worry about messing up the PPF on the bumper if I don't cut it. My PPF guy said he could fix it afterwards but I'd rather not cut through that expensive stuff. Did the inserts have a long lead time? Thats's crazy on the deer and Turkey. It sounds like I need to be hunting wherever you live!

 

I don't remember how long I waited for the inserts but it wasn't anything crazy. Maybe 3 weeks?

Do you guys dig green on green? Or that's too much

 

Over $2k for a set! Damn. I think it’s too much personally, but I was thinking of painting some green to see if I liked it. I ended up getting some 4-runner wheels cheap and I’m going to experiment with them. Thinking bronze, but the more I stare the more I wonder what it would look like in person

 

Looks better than I thought, would like to see the whole truck with them, not just the front.

I think my preference would be black spokes and the outer part of the Rim green.

 

Too much for me. I'm planning to do bronze in either the TRD rims or something from Fuel.

 

Build update:
Added a Martin off-road roof rack, with waterport shower, and grey maxtrax. Also tracked down a used GFC that my wife and I are stoked about! Got to break it in with a 1600 mile road trip out to the Olympic peninsula for a baby moon. As expensive as they are, the GFC is so worth it!

these are forged so not bad for the price.
Volk TEs are made in Japan, and these are made in China. I don't think China necessarily makes bad products, only cheap Chinese products are bad.
I'm going to get a set for my 4Runner, unfortunately these only come in 17 inch and I prefer 16 inch for Tacoma wheels.
