The Shakers Rock! :headbang: Especially when you’re down to the short strokes with not much left. Lotta work into those shakers.

Thank you all! I'm sure you've all heard the same grumblings from other businesses (particularly small ones), so I'll spare the details, but getting stock in has been a bit of an adventure as of late. I was able to bump some of the inventory until I get it all reconciled with where some of this latest shipment has to get divvied out to, but we're rocking!

All orders are packed up and should hit the USPS scanners at some point this morning for further tracking updates. All went out Priority, so I anticipate it being in by the weekend.

I have a new little tidbit to share, but I'll try to get a post specific to it ready here in a bit. Alas, it is not Vampire Rub - development time and costs have kept that on the back burner lately. That said, I think some of you will be intrigued - especially if you happen to own a Weber 22" ;).

I appreciate the orders! Sorry I've been a recluse - for what is worth, my footprint in the digital multiverse as a whole has been basically non-existent for much of the Covid era. We're all safe, happy, and healthy, just been pulled a number of other ways.

I did go 5-2 in my 2nd season coaching my daughters 10U volleyball team here recently. :p:rofl:

Here is the latest thing that I've been working on. I designed a custom grate for my Weber 26" kettle. A few things I wanted:

    1. More thermal mass than the factory grate
    2. Flat plate for griddle/searing purposes
    3. Access to add more fuel during the cook a la the hinged grates from Weber
    4. Rigidity across all axis
    5. A badass look
All got accomplished with this one. This is plasma cut from 3/16" A36 steel. The top left corner is a flat plate that can be removed to add fuel or dump your coals. It works great as a searing station and, I believe, after a little seasoning, it will do well for things like bacon or fried eggs. It isn't a huge area, but plenty for a couple pieces of skirt steak or a big-ass tomahawk should you choose. I'll have to go back to the file, but I believe the grates are 0.4" wide and spaced the same. It's a nice balance between exposing to the fire, not having too big of an opening for little things to fall in, and retaining some of the thermal mass. The thermal mass is something I fixated on to help with long cooks. Once up to temp, this grate will keep heat in your pit and should cut down on fuel consumption for folks that like to use their Weber for reverse searing and/or smoking/BBQ. The centerlines going North/South and East/West give it excellent rigidity overall and the North/South runner to break up the slats make sure that there is no flex there, either. As for looks, well, I mean, it looks effing awesome!

The rest that I cut out are for the 22" Weber. More of the 26" can be made available, but the 22" is the more popular size, so I made a handful of those. The plan is to move this first run of Pitfaced BBQ grates, then open it up for customization for anyone that wants different text in the centerline. The general concept can then be applied to other Weber sizes, Big Green Egg grates, Traeger pits, custom sizes, etc.

Only a couple of cooks in to mine, but it's already a keeper. Open to any input on the design and would love to hear if there is any interest in something like this. If so, I'll report here first once I figure out the best way to handle shipping (working on all of that now).
