How does a gun stop someone from breaking out your window when you're inside the store? I like how your argument fails so you move the goalposts.

For those of you who have had success getting through to customer service, have you just kept calling everyday until you get lucky? haha.

I also love the softopper product. Bought it used and after 3 years of use it's still holding up really well. Recently bought some new parts for it though and one of them was missing when the order arrived. Like most of you have said, in years past customer service was stellar. Even when initially placing this latest order they were helpful, but i've been trying to get in touch with someone now for 3 weeks and nothing. No one answers the phone and no calls back after leaving messages. Emails aren't returned either.

Update: Just calling tried them again and actually got through to someone.
She was incredibly helpful and said they'll try to ship out the missing parts today.
May have just gotten lucky, but hopefully this means they've started to get their customer service back in order.

I only called once, got all the information and 3 working days later I had the topper and storage bag I had ordered. Now I am just looking to find the time to install it. Maybe tomorrow morning before the rest of the family wakes up.

Based on the information on the website with delivery delays, and talking to customer service, my opinion is; they are an excellent company to deal with and I would purchase from them again.

I will also say, the quality of the parts I received are top notch. I am looking forward to installing them.

After the experience I had sealing the seam (rained the next day and some got on the rear window), I would say to lay out the fabric and hit it now. Just the sewn seam around the top perimeter.

Yeah, the customer service issues I've had have only been in recent months. In the past whenever I emailed or called I got a response right away. The website does clearly state that delivery will take longer which I'm fine with, it was just the complete lack of communication that I found frustrating.

The product itself is fantastic and I think you'll love it.
As can be seen by some of the posts in this thread, it's not for everyone. But it has met our needs perfectly and we love the versatility is provides.
Keeps water and dust out when you need it to, you can fold it down on the fly (or take it completely off the truck) when you need to haul something taller, and its a lot less expensive than a hard shell. We don't keep anything valuable in the bed so we don't have to worry about security. We also love that Softopper has all spare parts available on line so if something breaks or wears out you don't have to replace the whole thing.

We've had it on the truck for three years (including harsh New England winters and it's held up great)

I agree with this. So much easier to seam seal before you assemble the frame.

Same experience... just recently ordered some new parts to help my softopper originally bought for my old 2nd gen Taco fit better on my '21. Order came pretty quickly but was missing one of the required parts I ordered and paid for. I called, left messages, wrote emails, relentlessly for almost a month with no answer at all. I was really getting frustrated. Then one day my call actually got through. The woman who helped me was very nice and apologized for the lack of response. She shared with me they are terribly short staffed. Really a shame, the product is great, and the cust. service used to be great. Hopefully just a temporary situation for them. So yes, keep calling (try morning Mountain Time) and one day you'll get lucky!

I only keep a significant amount of gear in the topper when camping and don't live in an area where theft is common. I'm comfortable leaving it all at a dispersed camp site by itself unlocked without it getting stolen. Even then it's at most a few hundred bucks of stuff so spending $4000+ on a hard shell to lock it doesn't add to me (I can just put it in the cab if needed...and you can break into either easily if someone wanted your crap). For me it's just used to throw crap in and keep it out of the elements.

I unpacked and installed my top this morning. I am happy with how well it went.

I really like the look... and the ability to pack camping gear will get tested very soon with a trip over to Vancouver Island.

For those that have them, the post that the frame sits on, what hole is yours on? I left it in the supplied centre hole. The top is snug, but the brackets do bend down a bit.

And @Rock Lobster and @tonered , sealing before was a huge tip:thumbsup:. Trying to do it when installed would have been a royal pain in the :bananadance:

    Looks nice! :thumbsup::thumbsup:

My pins are on the center mount. Haven't had a need to adjust that in 6 years of owning.

    Good stuff!

Mine was tight on the middle hole. I dropped it down to the bottom one. It has been GtG since.

soft toppers are perfect when you don't want to spend $2k plus on a shell and need to be able to easily remove it.

    Looks great with the blue!
Have had our pins in the center hole since we got it and haven't given it a second thought until now haha.
Just looking at it now, I noticed the brackets do bend down a bit as well but it hasn't been an issue.

What topper is this ? Looks pretty tough. It’s gotten to the point of leave your doors unlocked, someone steals your shit. Lock your doors, someone breaks your windows and steals your shit. For relevance to this thread, to hell with Walmart. And tarps.

Seems communication is still not great. I placed an order for a replacement panel nine days ago and never heard anything after the automated order confirmation email. I reached out yesterday to see if I could add to my order since I'd not received any shipping or tracking info. They responded today saying they cannot add to my order and also said the part I ordered was on back-order with no given timeframe of arrival. It would've been nice to know about the backorder situation before I placed the order and trashed the old panel.
