Dopesick is a really good show that came out recently on that whole thing, pertaining to the Oxy epidemic but it applies across the board really. Purdue Pharma intentionally created that shitstorm for profit.

Can't watch those docs. I lived in ground zero through the mid 2000's. I blame the dr's more than pharma for that shit show.

Some of the doctors were definitely crooks but a lot of them just bought into Purdues outright lies that they had developed something non-addictive that could treat any and all levels of pain. Then offered them huge bonuses and lavish vacations as incentives for pushing it on patients.

anyway yeah that's all I'll say about it haha. The show was really good, can't go wrong with anything Michael Keaton stars in. Well...actually Jack Frost was pretty bad.

Well shit, it's even worse with the food that's hugely available to the public.

Government organizations funded by the very companies they're supposed to protect us from.

Why do you think the specific foods offered for those living on or simply receiving assistance are picked out? The dairy, the meats, huge staples in many of our diets that are the actual causes of cancer, diabetes, and more.

    But I digress.

I was just talking about this with someone but do you have to have fire insurance if you live in these fire areas? It must be ridiculous.

We don't cause we live in a pretty developed area that's not a wildfire hazard. We're about 2 miles from the foothills of the san Gabriel mountains though and they burned really bad a couple years back, almost got evacuated but didn't need to.

People that live in the foothills or up on the mountains probably get fire insurance, but I've also heard that it's becoming prohibitively expensive and outright denied to some people in high risk areas. Which seems counterintuitive but insurance is a snake business anyway lol. My dad was an executive with Farmers Insurance his whole career and will be the first to tell you that.

I almost did one of those when I was in college then decided $200 pay wasn't worth any of the potential side effects they listed lol

I did donate blood stem cells and they used a trials medication IIRC. I felt hungover for a week and practically dead the day after donating
