I don't even have kids! That's how i can afford one of these

Did your dealer tell you that it is specifically because of the belt recall? You've been waiting over two months, i'm scared that i won't see this truck for two months either. All because of a dumb weld.

This is what corporate told my dealership -

Lmao. I mean in the meantime I think they should draw up some paperwork saying if you strap a child, they aren’t held liable until there is a fix. Just so you can take the truck home. That’s sucks man.

I wish I would get an app notification! Mine has been stuck at the Baja plant for weeks now. Does anyone know if some trucks get through ports and to the dealer with no notifications?

If I get no update in a few days I wonder if it’s worth asking my dealer to write to the plant and ask specifically for an status update. I’m in California so if they’d just let me drive to Tijuana and get the thing I would!

I no joke asked the manager if i can sign some kind of liability waiver that states that i'll bring back the truck to my local dealership as soon as a fix is available. I plan on doing a backseat delete anyway. Super hard for me to back out of it because i'm getting a crazy good deal, under MSRP by a lot and free options. I also placed a deposit on a 2022 Maverick, that dealership told me mid-September it'll converted into a 2023 Maverick order so if i don't have the Tacoma by then, i'm going to ask Toyota for my deposit back.

Is the Maverick a decent substitute for the tacoma?

They believe it is connected but no definite answer. It was first a 35 day hold which turned in 70 day and now we are on day 72(must be some sort of record)
I called Toyota yesterday about the issue with the app and the recall and they told me the remedy should be ready by late this month with notices going to owner beginning in early September.

By the time all these 6/4 and 7/5 built Baja trucks are delivered you might be drinking Guinness Stout and Single Malt Scotch

Nothing wrong with bud light. I got a fridge full of it myself. Tonight I'm going to crack open a strong IPA and celebrate the little bit of progress my truck has made. Thanks again for the help!

I have a 7/5 build and nothing yet. Mine is a Limited with only a tonneau cover as an add on. Don’t understand why it isn’t moving! Frustrated.

It's definitely no Tacoma and i wouldn't keep one for longer than the 3y/36k mile warranty but here is my honest review of the Maverick - it's a lot of car/truck for $22-23k for the new base model. 1500lb payload, and can tow a little bit as well, i think 4000-4500lb. I was fortunate enough to test drive the AWD ecoboost and the FWD hybrid back to back. The 2.0 ecoboost was extremely fun to drive, really surprises you right off the line. The hybrid wasn't as peppy but it was a demo truck with 1100 miles and the avg MPG on the screen was 41 MPG. Neither drove like a traditional body on frame, turning in the ecoboost was almost fun? Interior is much better in the Tacoma but Ford uses an interesting mix of materials that gives a Maverick a nice cabin. Ford is going to sell a ton of these, especially to folks who are first time truck buyers.

Hang in there bro. It looks like they're working through the 7/5. A lot of 7/5 in this group are getting alerts. Let's just hope it doesn't move somewhere else and sit there for a month.

I received an e-mail from my sales manager yesterday and my 4x4 Army Green TRD Sport is scheduled for delivery next Thursday the 11th. If it actually shows up from Southeastern Toyota distributorship, who are installing my accessories, that will make right at a 5-month wait for my Tacoma. I paid my deposit March 16th. I'm as excited as kid on Christmas morning. I doubt I'll sleep any next week? I'm taking off Friday so I'll have a three day weekend to install a few minor accessories and show it off.
