    Good afternoon,

New guy here. I have exhausted my search skills for a remedy to my issue.

I recently replaced the air recirculation servo, located behind the glovebox.

To be clear, this is the servo that controls the door for outside air versus recirculation of inside air. It is selectable with the button on the dash near the right dial.

Well, I swear the door is reversed. When I select recirculate, I get outside air. When I select outside air, it recirculates. I tried unplugging the servo, switching the button mode, and reconnecting. Nope. I took the servo back off and watched it turn. There is no way to alter the position of the little door. It has to be electrical.

How do I get the servo to spin the opposite way to coincide with the dash button selection?

    Why did you replace it?

It sounds like you got a bad or the wrong part.

It should work as shown below.

It started the fatal clicking. The first Doorman part broke in a week. Then I bought one from RockAuto and it works great. But then I noticed something was off.

I bought 1712067. Maybe “blend” is wrong and I need to purchase the below “recirculation”…?

So I tested two, and sure enough, the one I had in there was turning the opposite direction. I picked this one up on eBay: HVAC Recirculation Door Actuator Standard ADR105. So far so good . I’ve now exceeded OEM pricing. Funny how that works sometimes. Try to save then spend more in the long run.

How hard to get to and change? I'm 70 yr. old, should I attempt it or just pay a shop?... NEVER go to a dealer.

I just had to do this, and it isn't too hard. Just take out your glove compartment and you should have access to it. It's in a weird location so it was a pain in the butt to get the tool up there to unscrew the actuator though.

I used 2005 Toyota Tacoma blend door actuator video 1 - YouTube as a reference.

Thanks ExitLSU, I've been poking around but this is the best video I've seen... Not sure if I want to try it, I wish I could find a shop that has done it before, like he said, after you do it once it should be much easier the next time.... Thank ya'll.
