Don't really know much abiut shocks, lift, etc. I've been doing some reading and talked to a buddy of mine that's a mechanic. He reccomeded this setup to get 2" up front. I want 2-2.5 up front and one on the back. Will this be OK looks good for the price but like I said don't know much about these things as I'm new to the tacoma world. Is there a better route to go or is this good? Thanks for any advice

If you go 2.5”, you will need to get aftermarket UCA to achieve factory alignment.

Also, if I’m not mistaken, you can use stock springs with 5100s.

The springs are not necessary to achieve the lift you desire. The springs are for increased weight in the front with bumpers and winches etc. The Bilstein 5100's achieve lift through clips to move the lower spring mount upward. Another option is Eibach Pro-Truck kits, these are excellent entry level lift kits for these truck as well.

To do the rear, a block upto 1.5" will work, above that I would suggest spring packs like Icon RXT's. I would never recommend add a leafs...

I am running the Eibach Pro-Truck Stage 2 kit with a 1" rear block and am quite happy with it. Lots on here that have the Bilstein 5100's and Eibach Pro-Truck Stage 1's with no complaints.

Thanks for the detailed info. I forgot to mention I am first going to be adding a steel bumper I think it should be done around the 16th. I. Know it's not much but it will be added weight to the front. Also will be getting steel rear bumper and some sliders. Eventually roof rack, and I'm having some steel skids done as well that will go on when bumper goes on

This is another option I was looking at. I'll have to read into the eibachs I haven't done much research on them.

I believe @Junkhead is running OME. I have heard good things about it. A quality product as well.

    Yes sir!

I have a 2” OME lift, nitro charger shocks and medium dobinsons leafs. The reason I have dobinsons is because OME squeak.

I really like the setup and the price was decent. Suspension performs excellent on road and off-road. Some folks say OME is a bit stiff but coming from
Stock sport suspension nothing is stiff haha!

Looks like I should be OK with either route. Anything else reccomeded with these or are they good to go?

Awesome, thanks for the pic and sweet truck. If I go with the ome it gives me option for firm valving or soft valving. My off roading will be mainly in the Texas New Mexico desert and it is my daily. I will be going up to Colorado and Northern California but the trips will be only here and there not a routine thing.

Don't do blocks in the rear, if you can't afford a full leaf pack at least get a nice aal...my truck was nearly riding on the rear bumps with rack/tent and gear...without bumper or armor

I can afford to do it right. Was originally thinking the fox 2.5 but for the stuff around here it's looking like it would be overkill. I don't mind getting something of quality thats maybe not as hyped up as the 2500 dollar stuff. I'm all ears on reccomendations and will research on whatevers reccomeded. I don't see myself getting an ott. Will eventually put a softopper on the bed but that's about it for the rear and the above mentioned

With the ome, bilstein, or eibachs will I need to upgrade any of the control arms? For the terrain I'm in will the 6112s be overkill?

I did 6112s/5160s and an expo leaf pack with JBA UCAs, ride is great... sounds like you would probably be fine with 5100s if you want to keep the price down a bit. 2" up front seems to be the borderline of needing UCAs. My 6112s are maxed, so I went with new UCAs to keep alignment where I wanted it.
