Well, I correctly presumed you were booked, and incorrectly presumed he had contacted you!

My neighbor just sent me a video from that fire, sent to her by her son, who is a firefighter/EMT in San Antonio. Scary.

Our wildfire dangers all across the region are incredibly high. With last year being so wet the fuel loading is high and with how try we are now it’s primed to burn. I just got back from a two week detail in Oklahoma and we fought about 20 fires in that two weeks. I think all but one were human caused too.

You should switch to Compressed Work Weeks and get 14 days off a month doing more of what you love!

We should do another Pew Pew & Q in Lockhart in Oct-Nov when it's cooler! I been saving up my ammo since that last time a week before they locked shit down in 2020.

It looked more scary in the pic to me. I drove to 71 and it was still way far from us thankfully. I hope there wasn't too much damage.

My dad was in the TFS for 15 years, he always has some epic stories about fighting forest fires in SE and E Texas. Like the bulldozer that had a gas leak and caught fire while the guy was plowing a firebreak. Or cutting down rattlesnakes while walking behind a bulldozer with a little 18" bolo machete.
He said his first fire was the most memorable since he was basically an intern/probie and the wind shifted while they were unloading the dozer and swept up around the carrier and he had to jump in and back it out through the fire. Fun stuff. No wonder he didn't like us playing with fireworks when I was a kid.

Hey there Austin folks. I moved to Austin from a far away land called San Antonio and recently snagged a 03' 4x4 Double Cab Tacoma back in May. Are there any shops that are cool about diagnosing suspension problems with the client while the truck is on a lift? I need some triage done on my current steering slop but would like to learn about the mechanics of things while being triaged.

    TIA.

2 most common steering slop in 1st gen Tacoma are the rack bushings and the rag joint.

And, so, my first ATX meet in a couple years - surprised to see not many of you there. Pistons in the Park at Austin's Park and Pizza. Nice place; they even open it up for clean restrooms. All these Toyota, and I don't know a soul or a truck! Finally met up with a couple friends, and made some new ones. I'll be back.
