And to the asking why I have 5 inch lift and 33’s I can clear 35’s but when you are on 14 wides you can’t and people put 35’s on 5+ not no 2-3 inch lifts. This is a Tacoma small fender wells not a full size truck or Jeep

 

A lack of or faulty knock sensor signal will cause the ECU to retard timing until the "knocking" stops, i.e. limp mode. As the ECU retards timing it will also lean the fuel delivery to match the ignition map.

These issues are directly related.

 

Listen man he’s not worried about that! Jokes aside, hope he reaches a solution. The best path for this is through strategy based diagnostics and understanding the purpose of components towards proper operation of the truck. Changing parts is only when you diagnosed the parts are not working within parameters, such as my sending unit lol

 

Got it put back together check engine light was off until about 10 minutes into test drive still does a lot better a lot stouter but I will hook computer to it and see what check engine light is for and fix that

 

Plenty of people running 35s with a 3” lift
