Today I did something cool at work.

I drove a 2010 Highlander.

Using Techstream.

Yup. You can control throttle position, oil pressure, oil intake and output valves, and a whole host of other things. Alternator charge rates, The list is like 17 computer screens long.

And that's on a 2010. A fairly older vehicle by today's standards.

took more things apart last night and found all the sprockets on the crankshaft are intact which is good but after looking and bumping the starter i noticed the cam chain sprocket does not move at all... so i started looking and found a old thread about these bikes.. there is a main nut that holds 3 sprockets on that crankshaft and if the nut gets loose the first sprocket to move is the cam chain sprocket and when that happens it will break the keyway off and spin freely and not allow the cam chain to turn so no moving valve train..... now if you are out riding there is a good chance your piston became good friends with your valves.. so then you got a lot more to fix... hopefully since my bike had stalled at a light my valves and piston didnt become best friends but no matter what the head is getting pulled on the bike to be checked to see if there is any issues... hopefully nothing but time will tell.. so far its adding up..

On ones that have auto stop and lane keep assist etc You can to a point. You also still have to put the transmission and drive if you wanted to move but... We are getting there. With some of those dial shifters though, their versions of tech stream (BMW, etc) can absolutely put their transmissions in gear and that is scary AF
