Interesting. It's really only off a lot in the low-mid RPM, low-load ranges.

Now need a calculated load % vs throttle position for each gear, then add those average divisions as cell borders so we can see how the gear effects timing through load (that is, if you guys are really bored )

 

im not sure that would tell you much, have better luck just driving weird to ride in the cells that have less records. youd need IAT to glean anything and there is no KS metric to monitor

 

Well it would tell you a lot more about your deviations by way of the conditions of your x-axis. Ideally this should be a 3D plot with z-axis being gear.
IAT has little to do with load and is negligible on timing (IAT being distinct from charge air temp)

 

I think you're missing the point here, but feel free to modify it how you see fit to make it benefit you, it's open source afterall

 

I mean if you're just trying to set a baseline for your standalone, fair enough, I'm just having fun from the sidelines

 

@Speedytech7 btw, what's with the cutoff at 4k? Just taking it easy at first?

 

I don't have much cause to go over 4k when driving around town. I probably did touch 5 for a second but the polling rate is still kinda meh over OBDII so it might take a few tries if you're not sustaining that engine speed for long enough

Got to play with some new python packages though. Needs work yet.

This is an excellent question. There are some indications that this is possible. But as yet, the OEM ECU is still managing the AT for those of us running it.

I guess I misunderstood your question. Mine is, what does the haltech ecu need to run the automatic trans.

 

I was reading a little while back that a haltech can run an A340 now. Haven't heard of anyone try it out yet.

I kind of figured it was possible. SNP Speed had indicated it was. But when I inquired about AT control being part of his based tune, he said negative because of the complexities.

 

I'd be surprised if it added that much complexity. The only things needed are the ability to toggle 3 solenoids, and RPM (and speed for lockup trigger).

We can do it if the ECU has enough leftover I/O, speed sensor can be repurposed to one of the AT ones if you dont care about accurate speeds in 4 low. Otherwise it might need a PD16 to be possible. I don't have an auto though so I need a willing victim.
