Ugh ... how old is it?

 

1200fps is moving along purdy good. The older pump guns (that you have to pump like 10 times) were only shooting like 400fps (I think).

 

Yard is dun!!!! Record time!!!

 

I'm pretty sure that my pellet gun is actually shooting 8 grain (hollow point) pellets right around 1,100 fps.
First shot or two gives a supersonic crack, otherwise not.

I think the 1,200 fps claim is for a slightly lighter pellet.
And I'll have to be careful about oiling.
I've noticed wisps of smoke indicating "dieseling".

I wonder if a 10 grain domed pellet may not be better overall
No crack, and many pellet rifle owners say more accurate.-
Which makes sense, as decelerating through the sound barrier is usually reckoned to be bad for accuracy.
And hollow points are not likely to be perfectly concentric.

I got those HP pellets cuz that's what Tractor Supply had when I got the pellet rifle

Nevertheless, they'll shoot into a dime sized spot at 25 yards.
