Yeah and I only pay for electricity once a month. 'Average fueling cost per mile' is still relevant.

    ...

Oh, and it gets about 100 more horses than the R4H.

Or the real question is: why do some guys have to show to the world their douche-bagginess? The original Hummer H2 was pretty douchey…the EV seems to be taking it far beyond that, even if it is an EV.

The old joke about Hummers was….it is just a Tahoe with the Douche package.

Not mine - it looks like every other bog standard Rav4 out there. It's just cheap to run (and only about 200hp) in battery mode, and pretty darned fast with 3 turning (motors) and 4 burning (cylinders). :D

I'd imagine that it's cheaper to vape than it is to smoke cigarettes, or chew tobacco.

That was directed at the Hummer target market. Never could understand the appeal the first time around.

As for the RAV4 liked the previous generation better, new one is a little too angry looking for me. Kinda goes for most of Toyotas current designs…they need to tone it down a bit. Not sure the need to have a vehicle looking pissed off.

If it was that relevant Toyota would only sell the Prime version of the Rav4.

I don’t think anyone was saying “I think the EV Hummer is the vehicle to get!” We we’re saying that trying to understand why someone is willing to spend more money on something different than what you like is a waste of time.

Oh I get what you’re saying. People can spend their money however they see fit. We can also judge them on their purchases too, some vehicles do appeal to a certain demographic. Hell, my bud and I were just at a motorcycle rally, he says to me, I can tell that guy is a dick just by how his F350 is lifted, wheel choice and what stickers he had on the back window…sure enough later in day, we got to chatting, he turned out to be a conspiracy nutter.

Sure it isn’t nice to judge people, but we all do it.

They're literally selling every one they can churn out. Ditto the R4H, though. But I'm gonna bet demand for the R4H falls off before demand for the R4P does.

And it's darned relevant for my pocketbook. Barely ran the Taco 5k miles last year since the Rav was so much cheaper to run around town.

That’s how I was looking at it. You can buy a lot of gas (mileage) with that delta. I agree the two aren’t the same, but to me it’s just transportation.

Agreed. Many of these vehicles still aren’t proven to be reliable yet.

Is that still a thing? You can just preorder online and get it the same day that it comes out. I agree they are fools for not realizing they don’t need to stand in line.

I used to wear a hummer t shirt because of the slogan they put on it. Hummer, like nothing else. I just thought it was a funny cuz it referenced blow jobs. People would scoff at me, like that such a stupid truck. I’d also get the do you own a hummer. One girl outside of CBGB’s told me that shirt sucks and I said yeah it does. That the point.

    Lol! That is awesome.

Remembered when the dealer Hummer sign rolled in at the e-recycling company my wife used to work at. Thought it was fitting, all that chest puffing to finally get deflated. Ha! Just noticed my old truck photobombed the picture. Speaking of status and image, see the owners Range Rover. Told her not to buy it because they are huge POS, and get a Land Cruiser instead, (she never heard of a Land Cruiser) she just had to have a Rangie. It later caught fire and burned to the ground.

The RAV4 prime seems nice as a daily driver. How many miles are you typically getting on electric mode and how long does it take to charge? The only problem I see is Toyota is going use up all the tax credits soon. It’s not too great of a deal without that $7500 savings.
