What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Looks really nice, you did a great job. Definitely have this on my list for after my kid turns 18 and moves out. For now I’m stuck with ground cheerios, dried craft paint and melted cheese in the fabric.

I pulled all that plastic shit out to make more room for activities also. I found a cloth molle panel on Amazon and stuck it back there. I have a bunch of recovery gear, tarps and blankets back there and under the seat that stuff all acts as dampeners.

 

Added some drl with turn sequential light strips today.

 

Tonight I'm sitting my ass in front of the TV and assembling wire harnesses.

Man, those self soldiering connectors are the absolute tits. Where have these been all my life?

 

I got rid of the SOS and kept the remote start. Only $8 a month.

 

SR5 and grille lights is an interesting one. You have to tap both sides with diodes to get it to not flash with turn. But it’s kinda more fun to just do two taps, one on each side, and have them flash w turns. Or could do 3 circuits, one solid DRL, outer flashing w turns.

 

I ask this sincerely. Why in the world would anyone want a cup holder on a tailgate. You can literally put a beer anywhere on that flat surface… or countless other places on the back of a truck. I drink off the back of my truck all the time and never had trouble finding a spot to set my drink.

I think some people just want a reason to buy something haha. I’m also in that camp… just not with cup holders…

 

I think that assumes you are parked on a flat surface.

 

I can answer that.

I don't have a tailgate cutting board nor do I want one. But I can't tell you the number of times I've been futzing around the campsite and accidentally knocked a drink over on my tailgate.

And that's from someone who has a camper with a rail mounted shelf, two outdoor folding tables, countless other safe places to set a drink. But no, my clumsy ass always sets one down on the tailgate when digging through the cooler, and it inevitably spills.


... Still don't want one though.

So the c4 front bumper was really easy to install with 2 people even with the winch on it.

For the rear I recommend 3 people. 2 to lift from the sides and 1 to guide from directly behind the truck and to thread a few bolts in place. The c4 high clearance rear bumper fits perfectly and as a result it needs to be lifted very carefully when bolting it up since there is little room for error before you start rubbing against panels with it.

After this photo I installed the license plate and license plate LED but it started to rain. Tomorrow I'll install the swing arm.

 

That looks really clean. What made you decide on the Clazzio's?

 

I agree. I hate the concept of it forcing me to put my beer in a specific spot. I often put it on top of the wheel to keep it out of the way. I have a flat tailgate panel, no cutouts.

 

With the Rivian, could you level it?

 

I bought a box of them but havent had a chance to try them out yet.
