Nice! Do you notice any random vibrations now that the bearing is solid mounted? I hated the OEM carrier, such a POS. I had driveline vibes with it, the aftermarket one I swapped to got rid of the vibes but the bearing was shit and only lasted a couple thousand miles (did that twice). Finally, ended up going back to a new OEM carrier and my vibes came back... I never got around to a solid mount but wish I had.

Is that the F250 'wookie strength' carrier?

Before rebuilding the DS, I had a shitload of vibration at 45+mph increasing steadily with speed. I could look over and see the passenger seat punking around like one of those wacky waving inflatable tube dudes. I knew I couldn't put it off anymore when I started feeling it annoyingly bad in the driver's seat too. Absolutely nothing now. In fact, I can feel the road surface waaaaaaay better and it's making me wonder where my tax dollars went in paving the road I live on. I think they must have laid blacktop right over washboard. You can actually see it when the road is just the right amount of wet, but now I can feel it too. /-:

I also noticed I don't have as much of a clunk when braking/accelerating a certain way. I attribute this to replacing a completely trashed U-joint and also greasing the slip joint under the boot. The blue factory treatment looked mostly intact and it still slid by hand okay, but a little bit of Red N Tacky never hurt anybody, eh?

FWIW that IEDLS carrier bearing (not the "wookie strength") isn't actually solid - it has just enough flex that if I push on it from below I can get it to move - so it still serves its purpose.

My OEM donut was completely blown out. I wanted to get it off in one piece to show how trashed it was (on the order of fetish porn butthole) but I ended up having to dissect it to get it off.

Very cool! My biggest issue is the trackwidth of my crawler is like 1/2" wider than my trailer's side rails, so I end up squeezing the tires between the side rails. Part of me wants to cut off the side rails, but the logical side of me says that is a terrible idea

Hopefully they didn't bonk ya too hard for that trailer, though it is really nice! I think I want to go with a Big Tex car hauler.
Last wheeling I did was for the Toys for Tots run :anonymous: The fiancée and I are dying to get on some trails and do some camping. We can't wait!

$3176 for the trailer itself. I couldn't complain one bit about that. The guy there said they sell a lot of 60ECs because of that price point.

I think I'll be in it for about $4k after registration/taxes, the spare tire I bought from them, a tongue toolbox, and some more tie downs. I sold my utility trailer for $2k so that got me halfway there.

The dealer in South Royalton was awesome - really nice people, no nonsense, excellent pricing.

Sounds like a solid price plus it helps you got half the money out of the old one.

@js312 Nice trailer my friend. I just got a single axle tilt bed for the Kubota through a repo sale otherwise I would be looking at your setup a lot more. A double axle car hauler can have lots of uses. Congrats.

I'm looking for a bunch of IBC cages to store firewood in and move around with my tractor. Do any of you guys have any idea where I might find some cheap (free would be even better)? I've checked FB Marketplace and Craigslist with minimal luck, they're all far enough away to make getting enough of them a huge hassle.

Thanks! I figured I'd make easily removable sides out of some 2x12s since it has stake pockets, but then I saw the price of 2x12x16s and it can wait until I actually have a need! On my last one, the sides were more of a hindrance than a help 90% of the time so I may go a long time with no urge to add them.

Ever get any use out of that shelter?

I'll have to check them out if I go for a new one! Someone down the road from me is selling a really nice deck-over all aluminum car hauler with ramps. It looks great, and I'm horrified to stop to see what they're asking for it
    That blows!

Aluminum was well beyond my budget. It would have been easily 2x, maybe 3x the cost of what I got. Too bad - it would have been fitting since the truck is aluminum!
