Also changed my oil. Got 12,650 miles out of it, and it still looked brand new.

How often do you change your oil?
Guys I just watched this video and it hit me that perhaps Toyota is doing the planned thing to get you to the point of a worn-out engine. I owned a 2008 2nd Gen that I put 249K miles on with an actual repair bill of around $350 for the entire 14 1/2 years I owned it. Changed the oil every 5K miles and it does seem like we are not getting all the miles out of an oil change that we could as it came out so clean looking. So I get a new 2020 model Tacoma and I see the oil change has been doubled by the factory to 10K miles between changes. Great so now I can let the dealership do it for $80 as it used to cost me about $35 to do it on my own with the 2nd Gen. I do not want any part of that oil cartridge BS and I may even opt for the screw on conversion soon, especially after watching that video. So with this video and that mechanic, I see waiting until 10K miles to change it may not be the best way at all. It is not so much the oil going bad nowadays but the filter gets clogged and starts bypassing and all the grit gets recirculated. So please watch the video and let me know what y'all think. This guy followed the recommended service every time and at around 120K miles his engine is shot.

So, I posted a snorkel/ditch light thing, that was really "what did you do to your 3rd gen yesterday" (or maybe the day before). But this is today:
    CBI Adventure front bumper (aluminum)
    Rigid SR-Series light bar
Rigid fogs (still on the way, so stock fogs for now)
    Warn VR Evo 10-S
    CBI (obviously) aluminum skids

I got “creative” and put a Brown fairing up on my roof racks in place of the black one i had. I don’t think I like it like I thought I would, but I’ll give it a chance.
I can always go back to the black one which was great.
I also might wrap this brown one in multicam if I decide i really don’t like it. what do you all think of it? Be honest- won’t hurt my feelings lol 66DB5806-B0A7-4889-BD03-BE8665C6E2F7.jpg 1DE652D6-2C96-4BD7-A3EF-AD34FB057510.jpg 3CAACAFD-3E20-4138-AC2D-FCC13B48EC3B.jpg 3A129BD6-E749-476F-B6E7-050670F1147F.jpg

Yeah, I think the "new" version with more circlips gives more adjustment. Mine are from Headstrong with the older 6/5 setting for 2"

I got mine from Victory 4x4. It is aluminum. There are a bunch of options on Etsy, though that are 3D printed.

    Enough for now
Got the avid off road rear bumper guard on.

I used an impact driver to loosen the frame bolts to get the brackets on.

I then used ratchet straps to help pull it up into place. Almost got it done alone but the angles weren’t working so my wife came and held it up in place while I threaded the bolts.

None of the rear sensors work now and I think the tailgate rests on it. I’m gonna keep it on for a few weeks and see how I like it.
