Meet Axle.
I rescued him from the engine bay of a car at a Pick n Pull this morning.

Unfortunately, I can't keep him since I already have two other cats that barely get along as is. I'll probably foster him until I can find a friend who wants to adopt him.

He just got a skink an hour later. Hate it when he kills skinks and snakes.
Saved the skink though.

I’m on another forum here at TW, where most of the posters are proud and happy to report that they trap, poison, or shoot, what they call stray cats. They seem to not be aware and care even less about the anguish they cause cat owners who love their pets enough to allow them free access to the outside world. Cats caged up in a house have only half a life, missing out on the wonders of freedom. We here on this forum understand their need to explore, but this trapping for no good reason and bragging about it is very bad news. On the chance of a trapper having a moment of compassion, we now must chip and collar our cats, and yes, have them fixed, no problem with that, but in fact I’d like to have those trappers fixed and locked inside also.

 

I have 14 of 'em. I use them as watchdogs and an alert system. They will let you know of something out of the ordinary 10 times faster than a dog. Their survival depended on those skills for centuries - so they are masters at it. If they all look in the same direction, you can bet your ass theres something over there. Meanwhile, a dog would be eating a cat turd. Cats are manly if you're smart enough to understand them and have enough heart for them to want to be around you.
