I ordered this upper control arm from Toyota Parts direct for my 2010 TRD sport. when it came it has a bit of brown paper a partially ripped off sticker and a Toyota sticker with the correct part number. It was also in a NAPA blue box. I paid about $500 for OEM so I would get something that lasts. Do you think this is the real OEM Toyota part? It didn’t come with the ball joint nut or cotter pin. It just doesn’t seem legitimate.

These look pretty legit. This pic is from my for sale thread (and they were sold months ago so I don't have any more detailed pics), but my OE's looked like this when I removed w/ 800 miles. Weird placement for their sticker though (normally it's on the bag they come in) but should be easy enough to remove. Unsure if they should come with a bolt and cotter though.

For that price though, I'd have ordered from a proper dealer or grabbed JBA OE replacement's.

Yea looks the same. So strange they put it in a NAPA box and that it has two stickers

They look good but NAPA does a good job of duplicating most parts. ripped off sticker was applied neatly whereas the toyota one looks like it was ripped off and put on somewhere else.

try looking up the part number on the box and see what that looks like. There has to be some minute difference between the two

Perhaps somebody bought Napa and Toyota control arms, moved the OEM stickers to the Napa and returned it to the dealer, and kept the original Toyota one at Napa prices?

People are sneaky and sometimes shitty. I don't put anything past anyone, unfortunately.

Did your dealer have it on their shelf, or did they have to order it from one of the distribution warehouses?

Ah.. Missed that part when I replied. Seems unlikely, but not impossible, someone would do the switch via online/mail. But you're right -- who knows.

strange... the part number on the napa box doesn't exist according to the napa website. If it is a oem part (questionable with the sticker conditions on it) it should be in a Toyota box.

Talk about janky. No way in hell I'd accept it, especially paying that kind of money. If it were me, I'd return it and buy some cheap like new takeoffs from a member here over in the Marketplace section.
