El Paso has its share of Hiluxes, too, as in this one from January 2020.

The company that erects the metalwork (stands, guardrails, etc.) at the Monaco Grand Prix every year has been using these same Hiluxes for the almost twenty years I've been going there. SFA models from the late 80s-mid 90s, I'd guess. The livery indicates they're likely former fire service vehicles. They probably have three or four of them. Ya gotta love the split rims. Pix from 2005-2022, sorta mixed up but generally chronologically.

The Red Cross of Monaco (Croix Rouge Monegasque) has their own Hilux. Kind of a nifty soft canopy on this one. These photos from May 2016.

This T-100 is a bit beat up, but seems to be rust-free; California weather is very kind to vehicles!

Looks well used, but clean compared to our vehicles that go through winters each year.

Gen 1 Tundra, but possibly interesting to this group because it's such a simple truck with a nice aluminum utility bed. Spotted in San Diego a couple of years ago as part of a landscaping crew.

I'm not sure what color this is, although I like it. Most of the beige/tan/grey colors in early Tundras were metallics, IIRC, and this looks like a nonmetallic.

How hard is to find parts for the diesel engine?

You need to know an experienced mechanic who knows how to cross reference parts, or else it can be a nightmare. Yes, some parts are interchangeable, but some parts are not.

As far as major parts are concerned, Hilux body parts, transmissions and engines are totally different from a Tacoma.

Some interior/exterior parts are similar and will fit such as outer door handle assemblies & lock mechanisms and mirrors), but again, not everything corresponds from a Taco to a Hilux, and vice versa.

A few years ago, I replaced all the 30-year-old OEM hoses on the entire engine, including a new timing belt and water pump as a precaution. You don't want to lose a timing belt on a 3L Hilux diesel engine. If you do it's game over. It was a labor-intensive job and a real pain in the ass, but I was able to source all parts locally. When I rebuilt the mechanical fuel injection, I had to order ridiculously overpriced genuine Denso parts from Japan and wait for shipping.:spending:

I replaced the rusty old factory radiator with a Fenix 3-core unit from New Zealand.

Beware of the multitude of Chinese made Hilux parts available for sale on the internet. IMHO, stay away from them if you can. Because Toyota no longer manufactures parts for a 6th Gen Hilux, sometimes this is unavoidable, such as my Aisin water pump....

I have bought parts from Jdmparts.ca before. The owner is very knowledgeable about anything JDM, especially Toyota. As always, these kinds of parts are stupid expensive.

I have seen a lot of crazy Toyota-based creations, including a 1929 Plymouth on a 1982 Toyota chassis and 1933 Ford pickup and on a 1985 Toyota 2WD pickup chassis. I've also seen a slammed 1994 T4R with a JDM Altezza 4-cylinder, a 1994 Isuzu pickup with a 1JZ engine, and a 1968 Chey C10 with a 2JZ! Let's not forget the two 2JZ-swapped Nissans I've seen (a 200SX and a 300ZX), a 1960s Chevy II wagon with a 2JZ, and a 1978-1980 Chevy Malibu with a Lexus engine of some sort; I've seen three 1978-1982 Hilux pickups with Chevy 350s under the hood, and a 1988ish Toyota pickup with a Lexus V8. All of these can be seen posted in my various threads. Let's not forget the chopped 1968 FJ40 Land Cruiser with a BMW V12! The owner of this 1994 Toyota pickup installed a 1980s Mazda RX-7 rotary engine, and this is still not the craziest creation that I've seen!
