Been thinking about suit design and wondering if inflation were the only way to create the necessary pressure so of course I found this video interesting.
    https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=XfsmEYPSTtk
Apparently Dr Paul Webb had a similar notion in the ‘70’s but we didn’t have the materials tech needed and the suits were unreasonably difficult to get into and out of. “Skin suits” have been a staple of sci-fi for decades as opposed to the wearable waldos we currently have. Some kind of back pack is inevitable given the additional environmental support needed for O2 supply, CO2 scrubbing, and thermal management and power supply but I’m also wondering if this isn’t yet another possible application of 3D printing if we can come up with an appropriate polymer material or set of materials rather than stitching together the various layers. Eliminating inflation would eliminate the need for mechanical joints and the wear and weak points they represent. CO2 scrubbers with O2 supply are the basis of scuba rebreathers and a proven field serviceable tech. Thermal management can be done through a variety of means which could vary depending on the particular environment and both power supply and lighting are still growth industries with substantial R&D being done. It’s the “pressure” part of pressure suits that holds the majority of technical difficulties.

Cool stuff. I’ve always wondered about the need to inflate the whole cocoon. Thanks

    WATCH LIVE: STARLINK MISSION

SpaceX is targeting Tuesday, August 9 for a Falcon 9 launch of 52 Starlink satellites to low-Earth orbit from Launch Complex 39A (LC-39A) at Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The instantaneous launch is at 6:57 p.m. ET, or 22:57 UTC, and a backup opportunity is available on Wednesday, August 10 at 6:36 p.m. ET, or 22:36 UTC.

The first stage booster supporting this mission previously launched one Starlink mission and SES-22. Following stage separation, Falcon 9’s first stage will return to Earth and land on the A Shortfall of Gravitas droneship stationed in the Atlantic Ocean.

You can watch the live launch webcast starting about 5 minutes before liftoff.

Is 135 seconds going to be enough to do all the static fire tests they’ll need? Plenty for one booster and starship I think but what about successive prototypes? Or is it figured for 135 seconds for each raptor 2?
