Anyone know if a hood scoop has a negative impact on fuel economy? Will I get better mileage with a flat, scoopless hood? I have a very low mileage black 2020 with a scoop and don't really care for it?

    Thanks,
    sw

I can't speak to fuel economy, but it definitely has a negative impact on appearance.

Do you mean negative impact on appearance with scoop or without?

Remember, beauty is in the eye of the beholder and I like skinny, knock kneed, pigeon toed girls...

Imo, anything that protrude's above the smooth lines of the hood's outer surface is going to have a negative effect on fuel economy. I guess you can bring the truck to a wind tunnel and have at it.
At any rate i think hood scoops look silly on trucks, especially everyday drivers.

If you don't like it there's a hood swap threat on the B/S/T forum I believe where people will swap out with you and give you some $$ on top of it to get a skewp hood.

I like sleek and clean lines. Anything protruding just doesn't do it for me.

The Sport comes with 17" wheels to allow for undercarriage wind equalization to accommodate the scoops elevation increase.
The gas mileage loss is due to stopping for the hot chicks who keep waving.

Life is short you're going to be dead a long time move on or scoop over.
(The Pro has the scoop to just look good)

It could also be from the increase in aerodynamic drag on the truck from all the panties thrown at it.

If the Pro was available with a scoop delete. That's how I would order it.

    That's all that matters.

I dont think they look bad as a whole. I just dont care for faux items.

I have a friend in Guatemala with a diesel Hilux, and the inner cooler lies right under that scoop, which of course is open.

    Function over form all day.

No it's not, you are trolling. But that's OK, we have to have something stupid to debate around here.

It has a negative impact on fuel Economy, I would have to say. That being said, I just like saying that, "that being said." Makes me sound official in my opinion.
