3rd Gen Magnetic Gray Thread

First post. Hello all. Picked up a brand new 2022 TRD Off road, short bed, crew cab, auto v6 last weekend in MGM. Was originally looking for a Lunar Rock trail edition but in retrospect think I actually did better with this unit. (grille and wheels are easy to replicate)

Liking it so far. getting 19/20mpg.

We actually rented a 3rd gen Tacoma for a road trip to Ocracoke a couple years ago and it stuck with me. Simple, fun, great off road and felt solid. now there is one on my driveway.

Nice, i don't think I have the LEDS but I do have some seriously grippy running boards.

 

I think my MGM Sports was built today. Got a real/valid VIN. The pictures you guys are posting do so much more for the vehicle than the brochure... One thing I noticed is that the lighting can make this color look black or slightly silver depending, which will be very pleasing.

Any recommendation to keep the exterior looking like it just came from the dealer? Actually in farm country, I think it will get more attention properly displaying the mud, dirt and dust. Nix that inquiry.

 

Excellent! I do agree, it looks better in person. Especially the front.
The chrome bumper caps on the rear are head scratching. They match nothing and date it terribly. Fortunately they appear easy to rectify.

MGM actually has a LOT of flake in it, so it really catches the sun and goes from light to dark. Its a good grey.

If you are in a very rural area I'd guess seat covers from new, really good floor mats (fitted) and maybe mudflaps are your best bet?

 

I've had my '22 TRD OR since late April, couldn't be happier! Got the wheels and tires on this Monday, I'm diggin it.

 

Definitely getting some fitted floor mats, not sure brand, and a port installed option is the mudflaps. I don't think seat covers will be on my list. A tonneau cover will however. Good to know about the flake in the paint. Thanks again.

Put a sport rack with some KC's on it on that and you have pretty much exactly what I am planning too. Very nice!

 

Did you take the decal off the bed?

 

I did, as well as the badges. I find it looks cleaner without.

Tell me, how did you get the decals off. Heat gun? Chemicals?
