Notice the drill in the drill bit, notice the little hole in the neck of the washer fluid. That will allow you to fill up the reservoir to about half inch below the cap. It's the little things....

I'm curious how filters differ across the brands and could be a contributing factor to this issue. I'm running Amsoil Signature Series along with their filter, which they advertise is good for 15K miles.

For having dirt circulating throughout, the drain plug was still pristine and there was no visible dirt in the oil. I didn't collect a sample to send for an oil analysis, but I was thinking about it for my next one. Very informative and helpful establishing good intervals for my LS1.

Copied this from my reply to someone else’s asking the same thing above.
“Window visor photo is from Wednesday actually. Thinking about it again saying "not very good quality" was a poor choice from me. Its more of their packaging. The plastic it self and install is really nice. But... all 4 had some type of scratch or mark on them from shipping. Their packaged on a piece of cardboard with heat shrink around them. Allows them to shift slightly during transit. One also has some black mark on it. Almost like grease. Cant seem to get it off. Decided to keep them on and just live with it. Not a big deal, just annoying.”

Every 5k. I change it at the 5k marks and the dealership changes it on the 10k marks to maintain their factory warranty. I use to run my diesel at 8k interval even though it was 12-15k recommended. I figure cleaner oil is better anyway, I could be wrong I’m no expert.

Well, first one is sealed, and waiting for a few connectors to finish the wiring. Looking back, I shoulda just bought already made retrofits (more expensive) or oem led lol. The second one is well on its way, when the humidititty drops to a reasonable level I'll get everything painted.

It would have been easier to buy but sometimes it's good to tackle stuff like this. You learn something new or sharpen skills you already had. Sometimes it's about the process, not necessarily the practicality. I get it. Carry on.

20 year automotive tech, my skills are arthritis and rickety knees and hips lol. The only 'bad' part is cleaning the channels of the old permaseal. A good carbide bit and low speed die grinder ate thru the leftovers quickly but made a huge mess (to be expected). Bringing the heat gun home to hopefully get thru it quicker for the second housing, as that's the only off-putting part of this whole ordeal.

Sometimes the most important thing I've learned from those types of projects is: "I never want to do that again!" LOL

In my time as a tech, I've learned that lesson many, many times. *send this shit to the dealer* is my favorite line as I move on to gravy work and an 80 hour flagged paycheck in a 40 hour week.

Side note: someone could make a small fortune selling already opened and cleaned or bare headlight assemblies at a reasonable rate. I'll have 3-4 hrs total in opening assemblies and cleaning permaseal lol.

Please don't let this come across wrong, it's an enjoyable project and really isn't hard work so to speak. Patience and attention to detail go a long way.

I did my tundra a few weeks ago

I’ve seen you do a lot of light work with a lot of LED’s, have you checked out some of the vled pods? I’ve been using them for most of my tundra projects lately, puddles, turn signals, footwell lights. I’ll be adding a few more to Both trucks for a rear facing puddle / curtesy light next to the license plate

I have the 4wp bumper. Thing is built very solid and it’s very customizable. I looked at many on the market and lots of these other brands didn’t offer anything better for the price they were listed for. Sso slimline would be the most comparable and they seem to have a quality product

Installed the OEM transmission skid plate. My SR5 didn’t come with one and needed temporary protection until I can get the TRD skid plate.

I have at least some sort of protection for the oil pan now.

Not the best pic but super stoked cause @DannTheMan had this awesome Seibon carbon fiber hood with some Baja Squadron ditch lights for a swap and some cash and we switched out a few days ago.

I love it!! Havent had a chance to set up the lights so they actually turn on but I love the look so far!
