Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
They're all decent. Depends on what you want to pay. I have a Laguna resaw king and the Timberwolf equivalent. Only difference is the timberwolf isn't Carbide tipped but works just as well.

I run timberwolfs on mine, they seem to hold up well and are reasonably priced. Plus I can just order them on Amazon and have em shipped right to my house. I also hear supercut is a good blade and reasonably priced too.

So 1/2" blade good for most stuff? Main thing right now is cutting discs from log/trees about 2.5" to roughly 4.5" diameter
I know smaller blade for tighter curves is better

I mostly resaw so I have the widest balde my saw will take, I'll let someone else chime in on a good all purpose size.

The wider the blade the straighter the cut. A half inch should be fine for that application plus give you some freedom for others.

Honey-do project today. She got this for free from someone who let it sit out in the elements for the past 10 years. I filled in the large cracks with wood filler. Apparently there is a depression in the oak as well.

There’s more to consider then just the width, you’ll have choices of hook, skip and standard tooth blades. I mostly use hook blades 3, 4 or 6 tooth. For tight curves you want to use a smaller blade with standard teeth with at least 10 TPI. So for your first blade I recommend a 3/8” or 1/2” hook tooth blade with 3 or 4 TPI

I use both Starrett and Timber Wolf blades. It all really depends on what size is available in which brand.

I've included photos I took from the back of both brand's boxes to help explain what's used for what.

I've used my Rikon 10 inch to cut everything from 1/4 inch aluminum plate to resawing multiple species of hard woods.

    Hope this is helpful!

i grabbed a skip tooth timberwolf blade at Woodcraft, just cuz it was what they had. Couple of you said it was good so i figured it will be ok to test. I definitely appreciate the info.

Im sure i will change the bearings at some point on this new to me bandsaw but so far ive only tightened up stuff and squared up things. I did have to order a new blade guide but was only $7something from central machinery.
I need a table insert but thats easy to make one
