2011 Access Cab. Been tossing and turning over a light bar location for a long time now. Just yesterday I thought about a location I hadn’t thought about before at the right height that I’d like to have them. Below is a photo with red arrows showing the location. Would this work, and has anyone else located a light bar in this location?

I'm guessing that you're talking about mounting the light bar on the top of the bumper which I know some people do. I have my 32" bar mounted inside the bumper so it shines out of the bottom slot. Cali Raised makes kits that fit into the bumper and are either flush with the bumper or hidden inside. Even the hidden one works great. The only reason I can see wanting to mount a light bar where you are suggesting is for cosmetics, and I don't think that would look very good.

That spot could work. But you would probably have to drill holes in your bumper and most likely need some kind of metal flat bar underneath the bumper to support the led bar. I put mine down in the lower grille and made my own brackets from Home Depot in the lumber section. Galvanized metal so it won’t rust. I also painted them black

I was really hoping someone had put a light bar where my arrows are with photo and their experiences with it there. I just don’t want to put one in the grill as most seem to do. I’d like the light a little higher. I know this is a subject that has been beaten to death around here, but I can’t remember ever seeing a light bar mounted on top of the bumper in some of the older threads.

Im sure you can do it. Maybe you can make some brackets that could go through the front grille and attach to the metal behind it.

Anything is possible with enough zip ties and duct tape.

You definitely can do it with some light bars brackets and screws. Wouldn't even be that hard.
I don't really see any downside to the in-bumper mount. You're talking about a height difference of a few inches which won't really affect light bar performance
