Mike, you are a good person. When I worked for C&P Telephone Company, as an Installer Repairman, back in the 60's and 70's I would always have a decent Washington DC map in the truck with me. Seems like once a week some lost person, a tourist, would ask me how to get somewhere in the DC area. I would pull out the map and mark up the route with a pencil then give the map to the lost person. Not an expensive gesture, but I made the da of quite a few tourists.

Just curious as to why you would accept a color that was not your first choice? Not that there is anything wrong with that.

And how is your red Tacoma doing?

This explains a lot. LOL :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::thumbsup:

Had a great day yesterday. Did not have a drink but I had real pasta and a chicken salad wrap for lunch at my nephew's birthday celebration. My wife and son went off to a concert and I went home and had a T-Bone steak with a butter, garlic fresh rosemary and sliced mushroom sauce along with some asparagus. This morning my blood sugar was only 120 and I am certainly not hungry at all. I have worked very hard the last 3 months for my eating splurge yesterday.

Today we are going out to dinner with music, but I will be back to watching what I eat.

I had a hierarchy of colors I would accept; Blue Crush Metallic was my top choice, Barcelona Red Metallic was my second choice, and Wind Chill Pearl was my third. I've been driving for over 50 years and this will be my first red vehicle, I guess you could say my Tacoma will be my "mid-life crisis car". :p

Well that sucks. Have you been vaccinated? I don't know of anyone that has had long term symptoms after vaccination so just curious. If you can get the antibody treatment you might want to consider it. I had it and the next day felt much better. I had to "qualify" for it to get it. They may ask some questions. Wishing you the best.

Greg we are praying for your quick recovery. Your symptoms are at least moderate if not bordering on severe. You need to see a doctor and see if monoclonal antibody treatment is appropriate. Even if you have to travel a ways it would be worth it. That treatment can be life saving.
I don’t know if you are vaccinated or not but I know at least a dozen plus older individuals who have had Covid, all vaccinated and all were mild cases lasting not more than about a week. One friend is on oxygen for pulmonary disease and he recovered in a week. Covid is serious stuff and can be life threatening. It is better to seek medical treatment now rather than later. You don’t want it to become severe before seeking medical attention. We are sending positive thoughts your way.

With the vacs and boosters, it took me a month to shake the head drainage that caused my constant coughing. Seems we all have a variable or two to report. Made it tough to sleep except upright.

Our son Jeff came down with Covid 4 days ago, hit him hard. Daughter in Law recuperating from back surgery, so no help from her, and 7 dogs to care for. They live 4 hours north of us, and Juanita goes in for surgery herself on Wednesday. As if that ain't bad enough, a drunk driver crashed through their barrier above the house and wound up upside down just short of hitting the house last night. Jeff out in the cold for 2 hours with Police, ambulance, and tow truck driver. The POS claimed he wasn't driving and the driver was hiding in the woods behind the house. Let him rot in jail. So now, all those First Responders will come down with Covid from Jeff, and Jeff is likely to have a relapse. Yes, he's vaccinated, but they wouldn't give him the Steroid because he's not in the high risk group.

I asked the doc about the antibody treatment but he didn't sound real sold on it, it's 50/50. I did just take another covid test today and it finally came back negative. I was still positive last Thursday. But the symptoms can linger on for a long time yet.

From a post I saw in FB the other day. Something to wrap your head around....
Just as many years separate 1970 and 2022, as do 1970 and 1918.

    And, of course!
Dang. I've seen everything but chicken soup recommended. Try that! Or, just get better in any fashion.

And, so, my first ATX meet in a couple years. Pistons in the Park at Austin's Park and Pizza. Nice place; they even open it up for clean restrooms. All these Toyota, and I don't know a soul or a truck! Finally met up with a couple friends, and made some new ones. I'll be back.

Nice choices for sure. I had a similar choice to make in 09 with the Barcelona Red being my first choice and black being my second choice. The black one came in and I bought it on my Birthday in 09. The next day we left for a 2-week vacation in Michigan, so it sat in the garage for a couple of weeks. Back then purchasing a vehicle under the CARS program was rough to do.

Wishing you a speedy recovery Greg. hope the head and body pains go away.

Not bad at all if this is your first or second battery. I had to replace my battery in 2017 when the Tacoma was 8 years old. Keeping a vehicle in a garage does help maintain the battery life.

Kurt: Thank you for all the pics. Lots of fine-looking cars.

I have a busy day today. Son's birthday was on Sunday and Friday night when he gets off work, he says he would like a chain saw for a birthday present. Not just any saw but a Stihl MS193T which is replace by a newer model MS194T. They have both saws at work, but the tree guys prefer the MS193T. I think I found a dealer with one but dealers that carry these types of equipment are usually closed on the weekend. He said he would take the MS194T if I could not find the MS193T. LOL

    Wvweyone have a great monday.

Good morning all, and also happy Monday to all the retirees! :D
Hope those of you or your loved ones with covid or other health problems are improving.

Had a nice weekend, family get together with good food and desserts at my brothers house to celebrate a bunch of birthdays. :)
Friday I thought there was a problem with the grinder pump, had a gurgle in the sink but didn’t find a clogged drain. Ran water and listened for the pump to run but never heard it even when I took the outdoor panel switch to manual. Took the pump reservoir cover off and heard it running fine, and sprayed the tissue off the floats because that’s what runs it in auto. Water level was low in the reservoir so really was no problem with it, however there was a smell in the outdoor control panel and most likely the start capacitor so I’m going to order both start and run capacitors and replace before they fail. It’s been about 8-10 years since I last replace the start capacitor so it’s time.

Yesterday cleaned the gutters finally with my sons help. Not bad this year only one section was clogged with leaves and dirt.

Installed a Ring door sensor on one of the garage doors, wasn’t sure it would work there but does fine. The reason I got it was so I can easily check from anywhere if I’ve left it open. So wouldn’t you know this morning I found the other garage door open, lol. We bring ladders through that one and apparently switch was sticking because the door was opening right back up when closed, exercised a few times and now working, we rarely open that door. So I’ve ordered another contact sensor to put on that door as well.

    Have a good day folks!

:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch Pals & Gal! Well now! We got a very exciting, windy 0.10" of rain yesterday while I was trying to cook. Gave the steak extra rest time before sear. Worth the wait.
Back to ATX again this morning - Dr. threw in a stress test (treadmill) before I go tomorrow, so another trip. Going to find a Good Feet store first, meet up with Mikkel for a lunch, hit the test, and beat feat before rush hour. Then I can go back again tomorrow, for TWO Dr. appointments (delayed from jury duty)!

:pccoffee:  sixtys/wannabes/COVID recoverers. @woodtickgreg it's GREAT to hear you are testing negative! I think you're smart to assume that some symptoms may hang around for a while. Take it easy on yourself, ease back into things.

Our well pump decided to show its age (25 years) last week. They're out there this morning pulling up 225' of pipe and wire and hanging a new pump on the end. Our pressure tank has never been replaced either (34 years) so they're doing that too. It's oppressively humid outside with zero wind; I really feel for them having to be out there. Heck, I'm sweaty just sitting here in the non-air conditioned house.

Oh and @ImpulseRed008 our Taco's battery quit last week too! Fortunately we live just over the hill from the Deka battery factory. I picked up one of their seconds and we're back in business.

    Stay cool out there folks!
