Nah buddy, appreciate the offer though. Knew you’d mentioned possibly being interested in a fun 27.5. Those GG bikes sure seem to fit that mold.

Dusty as hell! But they're getting rain today. What type(s) of trail do you prefer riding?

If you're up for a fairly tough climb but great view and rewarding down: climb Newton's Revenge up to the Stratton Brook Hut (if open, grab a beer &/or bite) then take Oak Knoll down. Depending in where you're staying, I'd suggest parking at the Sugarloaf Outdoor Center, talk to the folks there, warm up on some of the trails behind thr center then head down across state road 27 and the river.

Check out 207 mountain biking page on FB. Or NEMBAFest on there too.

I love biking there but unless you plan on demo-ing or joining a group ride/skills clinic, I'd suggest going when it's less conjested. Once you got a few miles away from the center of it, crowds thinned out. But inside ~1-2mi it was traffic every few hundred feet.

I'm down for any types of riding. Right now I've only got my hardtail, Trek Stache, and I just rode some super rocky technical stuff yesterday and wished I had a bigger bike. I may rent a bike while I'm up there though.

My parents have a house about an hour away so I'll probably be parking at the outdoor center and riding from there.

Awesome! There is both techy and flow up there. Outdoor center (Allspeed cycling) rent FS bikes too.

    When will you be there?

I'll get up to Maine the 13th and leave the 21st. My current plan is to do one or two of those EWS related group rides and hopefully get up to the EWS event on Saturday, assuming my family doesn't have any other plans haha.

Oh gotcha! Thanks for the thoughts. As for me and extraneous bike purchases I always think to myself "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". My bike works perfectly fine for now but maybe one day. Besides, it's way more fun out-riding people on a clapped-out bike anyways lol

I cleaned up my shift cable arrangement and created a chain tensioner from an old derailleur, so I could remove that black monstrosity of a derailleur.

The key was this custom hook made from an adapter and the Shimano bushing.

The best thing is that it worked on the first attempt. I was totally amazed. I had to tighten the spring a little bit so it would work in low range but that was it.

V.2 on sale now. V.3 on the way. Adding a zipper to both front pockets and “a slightly updated hook and loop closure system,” per a WWC rep.
