@Puppypunter - do you happen to have access to a pet carrier/crate? You may be able to entice the lil' guy/gal into one of those.

Yeah, the jumping is probably what freaked me out the worst. I was not expecting that. I thought it was just backing up, not going into a pouncing stance.

Snapping turtles are considered abundant and have no conservation status. If one is a problem/threat to dogs on the property I would just end the threat right there, same as I would a wild hog.

I do! But I need to get it out of the window well first. But that is a great suggestion. I even have a “large” one we use for transporting 3 pups at once. So like for a medium sized dog

Braid line isn't worth it.... Caught big catfish with it and broke the line... WTF!

I prefer glow in dark line which can be glow if you have light shine on it for night fishing.

I typically use a 6lb braided line on super light action rods and tiny reels.... caught fish well over 10lbs. My brother has used 30lb braided and has caught a ton of geese (not on purpose, their just stupid).

    Lifted, Armored, needs more lights.
If it truly is a snapping turtle just piss it off and lower a rope and he will bite it and not let go for some time, raise him out and drop him in whatever.
