I've been called for jury duty 3 times, sat on two juries. Boring!!!

Been "selected" but i call the day prior and im not needed

 

I'm one of those weirdos that I feel like I would really LIKE to sit on a jury and enjoy it. I was only called once, during college, and have yet to again. They dismissed me before I got called to sit for selection.

 

My wife got a letter in the mail a few years ago, she was supposed to call on the Sunday before the date. Card got misplaced, she forgot, thank goodness nothing became of it

 

The times I went it was so boring. I heard the word "scrotum" 96 times the 1st trip. We didn't award the dude any money. The 2nd one was a guy disputing a DUI, said he didn't have his keys so he couldn't have been driving. Lawyer ask him if he had power windows, he said yeah. Lawyer said well how did you roll the window down when the officer walked up if you didn't have the keys? His lawyer hung her head......trial was over before that but that did it....wasted 3 days for that dude.

 

Finally done. Looks like skittles colors, just need purple.

 

Thats neat. $400 worth parts plus whatever your place charged

Years ago I received a jury summons in the mail. I mentioned it to my boss and he said that was the day before plans for the sporting goods store we were working on went out and I couldn't go because we needed to finish the plans. He called, explained it to them and got me out of it.

My wife worked as a SANE (sexual assault nurse examiner) nurse when she was in the ER and was called in to testify three times. All three times the guy plead guilty just before the trial started so she never had to go in.

 

Three days to dispute a DUI charge?

 

Yes, it was the stupidest waste of time. The guy was facing jail time he had so many and trying to fight it. The lawyer for the state was a young new guy and the judge gave him an extra day, the judge told us that after the trial

 

The 1st time I got called they told us it was a murder trial and could last up to 9 days. Lunch came and the lady came back into the room where all of us were and said "why are yawl still here? The guy settled before trial"
