    Well, I went back, straight from work.

    I couldn't stop thinking about that smallmouth. It was sprinkling and then it turned to harder rain. I slipped on a rock and soaked my right leg. Was about ready to leave when I see a big tail come out of the water to my right. Awkwardly parkour over the rocks to quick cast where I saw the tail. 10 casts later....nothing. Start to think I want a big fish so much I'm hallucinating. There it is again! I DID see a tail! 7 casts later...nothing. One last cast and heave it as far as I can. Reel a little, and it's go time!

    brought a 10' travel rod to Maui. i caught 2 trumpetfish on 2 different days using 2 different grubs. Campania Lures Aurora grub (yellowish-green clear color with sparkle flakes) and a HoneyBadgerBaits motoroil color with sparkle flakes superslayer grub.

    maybe it was the same fish both days, hahaha

    Someone posted a reply to me on social
    media, says they are quite tasty. they ambush little fish and crustaceans, so are supposedly pretty sweet. I just released them since i only caught the one each day. If the action was hot where i got 2
    or more (or i figured out how to better fish the rocks without snagging so much LOL), i'd cook 'em up.
