Called three times but Corporate kibosh's it every time with the “Essential Services” thing. Present the letter & you’re in & out faster than a Rodeo event.

I have been lucky enough to wiggle out claiming financial hardship working out of town .

I said I would be glad to sit on a jury if the county will pay my travel expenses I always heard " We will mark you as excused" I think it was like 3 times in 35 years.

They would just vanish even in the magnetic dish for hardware I tend to use.

Just like 10mm sockets and wrenches !! I must buy 10mm tools every time I walk into Napa till I walk to the counter the clerks have them ready.

Funny how when the really cute girl that delivered parts left I really slowed down on the parts buying.

For those of you who remember my post about the 23hp Kawasaki engine on my IS-1000Z Ferris Zero Turn- Developed a (near) catastrophic oil leak in the upper crank seal, as in, it blew apart from probable age and dry rot, puked most of the oil out all over the engine, and I shut down as quick as I could.

Update on the prognosis- Pulled it apart, definitely the oil seal, replaced it, pressure washed the engine as the cooling fins were pretty gunked up. Must have been slowly leaking for years. I'll be interested to see how this impacts oil consumption. Put it all back together, it fired up right away. Had to replace the starter as the oil spill smoked it.

Had it idling for around 15 minutes burning off the leftover residue and whatever got washed off the engine onto the exhaust. Once the smoke cleared, it seemed to be fine. Fast forward to Saturday, mowing a small area to put up a tent for my kid's 1st birthday, ran great, small area, went to jockey it to the basement doors to finish reassembly over the next few days and it went RAP RAP RAP....... silence.

Pulled it back apart, one of the damn magnets came off the flywheel and jammed up in the stator. Now to source either a new fly or see if the magnets I found on eBay will work for $35 (ya get two, a N and S so I just need to figure out which got smoked.

Stator is bent, but the copper windings still look ok. Engine still spins free and the woodruff key is still intact. Might have dodged ANOTHER bullet. Pics to follow from my phone.

Don't waste your time with the old stator. Those coils ae less than $35.

I hope one of those mags are the correct polarity.

I may have a complete Kaw flywheel. Need to pull it apart to know for sure.

Get another flywheel !! Unless your planning to just get it working and dump the machine . I never could.

Trying to repair this with welding machines seldom lasts long.

If the repair fails in your case it is just grass not getting cut in my case it was $$$ and down time.

    Good luck!!
