Now I wait and see if my free shirt came with another coupon, if not I'll have to wait.
I have too many clothes as it is and I only wear like 2 different shirts a week besides my work uniform.

haha, no it was where I stole the idea though. I didn't think about it till I read that comment and then scrolled back up and was like.

I thought the PB Racing colors were a nod to Toyota. I have an RC truck with a Tundra body that I painted white with red/orange/yellow stripes like their old race trucks. But that first comment on the jersey post was awesome.

Ben's putting out some great content and not doing terrible.

Looking for some feedback on a bike mounting idea. I've just been throwing my bikes in the back of my pickup, but when I go camping clearly there's too much gear in there. Another complication is that I have a bakflip MX4 tonneau. I don't want to mount 100% on top of the Prinsu as I'm not a tall guy and thats a heavy reach to get it on and off above my head.

I'm considering a middle ground approach of putting a fork mount on the back rail bar of the Prinsu roof rack, so I would mount front fork up high but the rear tire could sit on top of the Toneau. I anticipate standing on the sliders will give me enough leverage to get the bike up there, and the 45 degree angle will prevent the need to strap/affix the rear tire in anyway.

Has anyone done this, or does anyone have any thoughts regarding the concept?

Could you just mount to the top of the bed rail or the top of the tonneau itself with one of those fork mounts? There’s also a mount that goes along side the bed. It was originally used along with a bestop or softtopper, I don’t recall who actually made it though.

edit, here’s the idea, homemade by a TW member no less but I believe there’s a commercial option available as well

I think something like this from squareone could be a good solution: https://squareonecreations.com/coll.../products/sideride-bike-mounts-tacoma-version

I have a roof rack and I still kinda use it when I'm transporting a lot of bikes, but I mostly use a platform rack now. This particular setup is kinda double racked because I have it mounted on top of the factory rack making it extra high (see second pic). I find I have to stand on the rear tire instead of my sliders to reach easily, but I'm also not particularly tall and you'd have to reach less with mounting rails or fork directly on the prinsu. Its not terrible to get a bike up there, but does require some nible-ness. That is my insight on roof racks, so hopefully its somewhat helpful.

if you do go the tonneau/roof mount, I'd recommend at least something to hold the rear wheel down. Even thought the fork is higher up, everything cans till rotate about that front axle. Maybe a flat piece of aluminum with 3M double stick tape to one of the hard top sections of that tonneau with some velcro straps running through it? Then its non-permanent on the tonneau, but the rear tire is secured in some way

Does anyone have a 1up rack installed on a high clearance bumper? I want to know how it's working for you (stability, ease of use, etc.). Also, I assume you can no longer drop the tailgate with the rack laying flat since the position of the hitch is raised, correct?

I think there is someone in this forum who has posted photos in the past of your situation. Most folks have a swing out if they are running a high clearance bumper due to the loss of the place to keep their big spare. I saw a one up mounted above the spare tire rack on a van and it was awesome.

As long as you were jumping everything on your way up the fire road. Looks rad! How many feet of elevation gain is said climb?

I should retain my spare tire under the bed, swapping out the bumper shouldn't impact that.. perhaps you mean folks who have 35" tires and need a swing out? My question is more related to the position of the 2" hitch, it shifts up and simply wondering how that impacts where the rack and bike are located.

I've got a Stumpy Evo and when I start rocking the downhill, moving around the bike and moving it under me I am hitting my knee on the bracing port side of the shock. Know I'm not the first to encounter this. Is it bad riding form or position? Pretty sure my neutral position is left foot forward, right back which is probably part of the problem. Any suggestions (aside from teaching myself ride right forward)?

Sounds like you might be up on the bike and pinching your knees together on the DH. Loosen up a bit and get back on the bike. Let the bike do it's thing.

Haha that’s fair. I just assumed you were in that club since you are asking questions regarding a high clearance bumper.

Are you wearing any knee pads?... If not will help with your discomfort on the bike and also if you have a sudden dismount off the bike... :anonymous:
