Wordle - and other fun, addicting word games.

Three yesterday. I got a chuckle out of the word I used to eliminate three of the four alternatives, describes my month so far.



Four today.

 

We use the same starting word

 

Haha. I’ve been trying different ones this month. Last month I used stern the entire month but have been mixing it up lately.

 

I tried using random words for a while - just whatever popped into my head. It did not work. Now I'm back to using 1 or 2.

I try to use A, E, S, R, T as much as I can.

 

One of y'all put me on to the wheel of fortune most common letters thing and I try to use them within the first 2 guesses, been working well (outside of the last week or so's answers anyway)

 

Yep - RSTLNE. But I try and use as all the vowels in the first 2 words. With whatever vowels are green/yellow, along with the consonants that remain, it helps figure out the rest. Sometimes it works, some not. But it has been working the last few.

 

I’ve been trying to knock out RSTLNCH in my first two guesses, which eliminates a lot of the two-consonant combos (th, sh, ch, sl, sn, cl, etc.). That leaves two vowels + y which sometimes leaves me hanging but is usually good for at least a 4 and a decent number of 3s.

 

I began my wordle journey with MILES as my start word. The past three days I started a list of check words, as in good second guess words based off of what’s yellow or green. I just added a few from todays responses here. Thanks


P. s. I didn’t know ‘whelp’ would be an excepted word. Big gulps eh? Whelp see ya later.

Seems whatever strategy I have doesn't work. Maybe I should start without the vowels

 

I thought I had this in three when I figured out the 3rd and 4th letters, but there were so many possibilities...

I'd guess the same as one I THOUGHT about using, but decided not too! Something joint like, or bar pickings after last call?
