    This was my first Brickfest, so I might be wrong but I’m guessing the closer it is to a large metro area the better the displays/builds. Most of the items I took pictures of were presented by regional clubs.

    Some of the techniques for the ultra-micro scale landscape and the swirly bit for the moon are interesting.
    for the moon...never seen the \_/ shaped piece used anywhere but in a few vehicles. comes out to a near perfect circle

    and a little frustrated with the part selections too. lots of 1x2's in line and what not.... just give me a damn 1x4!!! not sure if they upping the piece count to justify the higher prices or if they're trying to lower the individual types of bricks (could be 50/50) to speed up manufacturing?

    Still not happy with the year + wait for the set but I'm loving it so far!

    in the sky maybe - its all 1x4's staggered with 1x2's on every other row. but there are plenty of hidden joints where they have smaller parts even though there are the same color/size elsewhere.
    maybe I'm just trying to build a conspiracy theory to justify the higher prices. dunno. just seems weird and frustrating to me.
