How long did you have to wait for your factory 2022 order/request/whatever it is called?

Thank you for that. I ended up getting the VIN from my dealer and it looks like my TRD Off-Road built on June 6th at the Baja plant too, and I called the dealer today and they were telling me they thought it would come today or later this week...Rod tracked the VIN and the truck hasn't moved from the factory lol. Have you gotten any update?

Another data point for me:

• after 10 yrs of waffling on a taco and hoping used prices would come down, I finally decided it was time to buy and new was the only path that made sense.
• nailed down my spec (DCSB OR, premium, MT, lunar rock or blue crush), started searching in earnest at the end of June
• contacted basically every dealer in Virginia, plus a handful in adjacent states & one broker, about 36 in total
• after a week or so, I narrowed it down to (3) dealers that sold at MSRP w/ no BS and had waitlists for an allocation, had to put down a refundable deposit w/ one
• kept checking autotrader nationally, found a dealer in Chicago that had a few listed on their site. Went through a week of back & forth, a bit of bait and switch, finally agreed on $100 under MSRP for a truck that had been allocated but not claimed, put down a deposit mid-july.
• truck arrived at dealer last Thursday (8/4), purchased sight-unseen today.
• auto transport is picking it up tomorrow, supposed to arrive in central VA Wednesday evening.

If you're looking for an MT in lunar rock, Elgin in Chicago seems to have a bunch on allocation. I'm not sure how many are claimed, I had my choice of a couple back in mid July. You might have to do some dealin', but it shouldn't be too hard to get them to MSRP.

 

Truck is now showing 1 mile and a touch of gas. Maybe it might show an eta or something at this point? What you think @Rod03? Or should I just be patient?

 

Alert came in this morning that the door locks were opened. Definitely have movement.

 

Salesman just called me. I went to dealer in the first week of April and told him I wanted an SR5,
4wd DCLB. He said OK, 6-10 months, would you be flexible on color, trim, etc...
Said I was first in line for a long bed at that dealer. Long story but he called me in early May
with a red sport in DCLB allocated, I turned it down and said I'd wait. A week later he called and said
they have an allocation for a Lunar Rock DCLB Off Road expected in late July. I'm picking it up
tomorrow morning.
I'm pumped, I'll try to post pics soon.

How much is it to ship to you if you don’t mind?

 

$875 open carrier through Nexus transport out of Chicago. I got quotes through Uship from $800 to $1200, but Nexus has been easy to work with, always someone to answer the phone within a couple of minutes on hold. I'll hold on any reviews until it arrives.

 

@Sir_Standing_Beard . Congrats. I’m in central VA. Waiting on my DCSB OR. Should be in any day. So I’m told.

 

Could be just back logs, rail protests, employee shortage, or the wild fires. So much can be a factor these days lol.

Yep I requested a 2023 DCSB 4x4 TRD SPORT back on 7-26-22. Put a deposit down. Haven’t heard anything since.

 

Jeep said hold my beer and came out with what I would call highlighter yellow color. I thought the Toyota Lime color was bright, but this one is definitely brighter!

 

Picked up my ORSB in Lunar Rock last night after 6 weeks of pushed back delivery dates! Worth the wait!

 

I like the less metallic bright colors better.

I'm waiting to see a vehicle wrapped in reflective lime.
