Little different back then since there was no internet, so automotive cult followings didn’t get as huge. My mom almost bought a 900, I loved it since it was so different and weird looking, but my dad being a good ol’ boy refused. He loved those huge American made Cadillacs.

Saab fans moved to Volvos. :)

Yep, just a marketing ploy. I fell for the “22 year life span” thinking I wouldn’t have to replace bulbs for a loooong time. Hell, I even went to school for advertising, think I would know better, advertising is just bullshitting people to buy products. It is almost as bad as inflated product reputation…like Toyota, heard they last for “forever”. lol!

Yeah Volvos too, I liked Volvos when they were more understated and square.

There was also the Sabbaru 9-2 Imprezza, while GM still had their hand in the pot.

Looking back at the 9-7 X and the GMT 360 platorm which hosted Buick, Olds, Chevrolet including the SSR, GMC name plates, along with Isuzu and Sabb. I thought that platform had some relation with the B9 Tribecca, but it was the 9-6 X that shared a platform with the 1st gen Tribecca.

I like Volvos just never owned one, square body especially. Dig the current ones too, about the only one I am interested in is the V90…but can’t justify paying $60K for station wagon. https://www.volvocars.com/us/cars/v90-cross-country/

Did not know it shared the platform with the Tribecca.

Yup. When Saab went under they had a fire sale with their new car inventory. I almost bought the small suv they had just come out with. I don’t think I’ve seen any Saabs on the road in years now. They probably couldn’t get parts and junked them.

I don’t know this was close to a junk auction house with a line of other junk cars on flat beds. Thought it was interesting. The front end was squatting quite a bit. :notsure:

Maybe Rivian builds them and then transports them to storage lots.

From the picture it looks like just the passenger side front, from the picture the driver side does not look as low. Could be the picture.

I have seen them on the road with the front end set lower than the rear.

I wonder if you can lower the rear and raise the front? Squat mode.

EDIT: Oh, Joe deleted his post.

It doesn't: see the point #5, the text below the picture. The R1T has air suspension so the ride height is adjustable and the guidance when being flat bed towed is to lower the suspension to the minimum height.

If it is for delivery, looks like it is improperly tied down. If that was mine, sure wouldn’t be happy seeing the straps going through the wheels. Reminds me when the transport driver came to pickup the VW Westy I sold to a gentleman in the Netherlands. Long story short…half ass job, and trying to fit too many vehicles on the carrier. Wasn’t too happy with him, tried to get the buyer to send someone else because I didn’t trust it make the journey, but they refused. Ok not my problem now…

Watched a documentary on them, under GM ownership, they wanted them to cut corners, yet the engineers refused, they wanted to build the best vehicle possible. Wasn’t cost effective. One of the reasons they went under.

Idk, I like the color and the back end. Pretty cool. I’m totally happy with my paid for 2008 Tacoma though. I got a mortgage to pay for!

I did a camping trip over the weekend that I do not think I could have done with a Rivian. It wasn’t even that far as I didn’t leave the state but around 2.5 hours each way with a full bed of gear. No place to charge at of near the camp ground and certainly wouldn’t want to stop to charge up on the way home all dirty and wanting a shower badly.
Another thing I don’t think I could do is snowboarding trips. Lower range in the cold and very limited charging locations up north would be trouble.

If you haven't done it go to plugshare.com and take a look around at where you like to go. Most people I show that to are surprised by the number of charging stations available in places they would've sworn they've never seen any and they didn't exist. Not saying you are wrong - I don't know where you go - just that a lot of non-EV drivers don't realize charging is much easier than imagined.
