What should be a 0-60 for 04 taco

Of all the reasons that recommend Gen 1 Tacomas to people, “acceleration” just isn’t one of them. Not what they were built for.

But a 9.6s 0-60 time is enough for it not to be a hazard to navigation. There was a time not that long ago where a time like that would have been somewhat typical for many vehicles.

 

Yet they are the fastest generation of Tacoma

 

Are they?

I daily a Land Cruiser whereas before I dailied Corvettes and a ZX9R; I know what slow is

 

I'd call 9.6s impressive

Assuming you're comparing the V6s at least. Idk about the others.
Power to weight favors the 1st gens

 

Given your other thread about breaking the speed limit, I'd suggest selling the Tacoma and getting something else. 20-year-old light-duty utility trucks don't sound up your ally.

 

Definitely gives off Dodge Charger or Ram Truck vibes.

Maybe a former or future Altima driver?

 

I was thinking more of a teenager trying to keep up with his buddy's cars. People who have owned cars or trucks for a while have hopefully developed the skills to google these idiotic questions before asking them.

 

I can guarantee you that it's faster than my first 1981 Toyota 4x4 truck was, it was so slow it couldn't get out of its own way. It was still fun to drive though.
