When I lived in Florida. Since it sucks. We'd plan out trips for spring and fall.
Went to Choccolocco. AOP. BlackRock Mountain, KY. WindRock - by far my favorite though.

Hey nothing wrong with that, that’s exactly what I was looking for and I’m happy to support a business that can provide it.

In our group we've had 3 brake line failures* in the last 5 trips. 1) we all need to upgrade our brake lines, 2) we need to carry one of these.

*All the brake line failures was due to the securing bolt on the hard line coming loose or non-existent. #prepyourshit

So many questions after watching this. What do you run your tire pressure at is the first? What is the spring rate on the front is the second?

I'm assuming this is with the AP kit you previously posted?

no that was my mid travel setup. tire pressure usually about 15 and spring rate was 700 but should've been like 650. Ive got 600lb on my LT coils and its really not enough. Ive had to preload more than i would like.

Cant answer his questions other than, them trails are pretty damn steep and unload your front tires pretty bad.

that video doesn't do any justice but you can tell by the way my truck is angle and how far down those jeeps are on the ground. Super steep. I watched a guy lose all brake pressure at that same spot at almost have really bad rollover. The line i took is the only one that trucks can do. All the other ones are buggy lines.

I assumed it was a STEEP climb. Cameras always downplay the angle which is unfortunate when trying to tell a story. haha.

Crazy to see how little traction there is even at 15 psi.

Then add in moisture from rain/snow. it gets stupid.
When I finally wheeled out west. I was like? WTF this is easy!

Chocc is a hard park. The south is a bunch of clay and loose rock. Its not as sticky as the west. If you ever make it over this way youd understand haha. That being said i got up that alot faster than most would in a Tacoma. Tires were basically brand new there. Ive spent over 15-20 min with someone else with a similar build trying to get them over that first rock that took me a few attempts. Actually come to think of it thats the same spo @ovrlndkull busted his diff lol.

I lived out East many years ago. I'm familiar with the terrain.

Wheeling out west has it's own challenges but they vary fairly significantly from the East coast. A good day on the trails is a good day though!

iirc those allpro kits used to pop axles more than any issues with them breaking. With these trucks you basically have a window of what travel can work because of tire fitment, a window of what travel can work because of cv articulation, and a window of joint articulation on top n bottom of the spindle. They used to set the uniballs up to be about the bottom of that window of cv articulation. So it would look like everything was right at ride height/lifted high and get great droop travel while jacked up which also looked great, but had poor up travel and the CVs would bind a lot and, again iirc, people would constantly snap axles while drooped out
I don't have any experience with it but i remember looking into that kit years ago before i realized what costs LT entails and what other options were out there. 10 inches of travel can be had on a mid travel setup with the bump stop removed; your kit should pull around 12 fairly clean with the upper uniball properly sorted. It'll still work great as long as you're aware of these issues but leaving a potential 20% increase in travel on the table on ifs and potential to snap axles a lot is kinda a big deal hence their criticism

Just by the sound of that it sounds like a user setup error/ install error. As far as travel on a mid travel setup my coilovers were almost maxed out and i was only pulling close to 8. Real reason i went ahead and took the plung was because my front end needed rebuilding and it was good a time as ever. I happen to reap the benefits of another member that spent $$$$ on everything so it didn't cost me that much TBH. yes everything was brand new. That included installing fk uni balls in upper and lower arms with new bolts and uni spacer etc. Bushings as well were switched with quality ones. Also upper and lower arms were reinforced and uni cups by a professional welder that tig welded them on. If i were to scrap just the upper an lower arms it wouldn't be a huge loss as all my money was basically put into shocks and cv. I saved no joke about 3k than if i had gone with some other kit minus the upgrades to this one. Thought about buying some upgraded cv with that extra money to squeeze a little more droop, but i wanted to spend that money else were in my life. Again, i have spoken to no joke 10 ppl who either ran this same base kit im running or the allpro kit on here and have nothing negative to say about it. One guy even said he preferred it to his TC for some reason. I guess because the GC was higher. IDK i didnt say that haha. The ppl that say this kit sucks or is garbage always just say that and then that's it. No reason why or what they consider a kit for or even ppl who had issues with them. Thats why i am skeptical of the issues. I think they just see a basic cheap looking kit and discredit because of face value.

Im not saying this kit would work for ppl wanting maximum wheel articulation bouncing on rocks on 40s or bombing through the desert etc. But i think it is a good option (my opnion right this second) for ppl who just do mild offroading who want extra wheel travel.

Anyone done a tundra rack install? Looking for the best way to cut the bungs out of the frame and move them 1/2” out.

Also is this going in the 16 or the 05? On my 05 the engine mount bushings were so worn out that the engine sagged to the point I couldn’t install the rack. I got some mounts from @Bonzen as well as shimmed them up with 1/4” plate and I have room for days.
