Same reasoning nobody has made lower gears for our stock VF1 t-cases. Easier said than done.

let me look for a screenshot. I've been working on this in conjunction with my transfer case clocking kit - pair those with either the fuel tank lift (Taco) or fuel tank relocation (T4R) and you get a couple more inches of ground clearance/break-over without additional lift.

 

here's the first screenshot I found - I just designed the crossmember to pocket the factory mount (like a hammock) instead of sit below it, picked up a couple of inches. The sides are flush with the bottom of the frame, so it's a very gentle slope to the transmission mount area.

Exhaust and front driveshaft pass through the crossmember (oh yeah, requires an exhaust lift - cut 2" out above the cat and the entire exhaust is now above the frame as well)

Got slowed down on this one, because I have to make it suitable for both auto and manual trans, and both Taco and T4R, so lots of fit verification going on.

It'll get its own skid plates, etc.

BTW, don't share this with the Russians, already getting most of my catalog ripped off over there. :/

 

Looks sweet! Having pass throughs for the exhaust and driveshaft seem like an awesome solution for that.

Looking forward to your gas tank lift, wish you had this available soon too! I'll probably be welding up a simple tube crossmember for the flat belly, now that I have the clocked case and exhaust above the frame as well.

 

Tank kits are in stock; just have to figure how to package and ship them to determine the finalized cost. Should be on the website this weekend, I'd think...

 

@Squeaky Penguin does it matter if the j shift for the rear is from an auto or manual truck? I imagine not since it’s going into the nwf case right?

 

Makes zero difference. The input shaft lengths are a little different, but you replace the input shaft in the rear case with the one supplied by NWF. Then you'll just need to make sure to put the sensors in the right location based on your factory case if you want to keep ADD etc.

cool, thx! I'm figuring out how I want to pack these, then it'll be heading your way (give me a day or two - lots of pieces/weird shapes to secure together and pack, so coming up with a repeatable configuration is taking a minute.)

 

Nat Geo Maps are my freakin jam! Ive got tons and theyre the best ways to plan trips and find routes IMO!

I still love the Nat Geo maps, but I just use that layer on Gaia most the time these days.

Back in the garage to hopefully have this shitbox all set for Moab in a month. Finishing some little details on the rear bumper, and then installing the gas tank lift. Also downgrading rear shocks to some 12" 7100 short bodies. Been wanting to mess with the shocks since switching to the deavers. Not sure this will be permanent, but one of kings needs a shaft anyways, which evidently is a pain with the welded ends.

 

HMU when you start the tank lift - I've done exactly one and am here for advice (but need to crawl under my truck and see what I was thinking/did, lol)

 

My wife pointed it out in a store and I scoffed and laughed. Then I had to go back and get it in your honor. I’ll probably hate it but whatever
