Very well said. It seems like under the RC era and prior, you either had a factory ride or you didn't. That's where my mind always goes when the term Privateer is used (enter my reference to N. Wey and his legacy). Guys either did it on their dime or had the full package deal from a factory. There wasn't as much support or sponsorship money to build up a bike to make it comparable to the top guys.

Had no idea McElrath is 10th in points. Glad he was able to land a good bike to ride the season out. If he didn’t have to worry about bikes shoot he be up there with the main mix of guys closer to top 5.

Husky shoulda just carried 3 guys for the rest of the season. Dean isnt cracking top 10 on his farewell tour, hate to say it. Shane kinda got screwed in that regard, but ClubMX is a great team and we all know those Yamis are fast.

Ya I agree. He stepped in and did pretty decent. Especially with that Husky being a new platform that they are trying to sort out, in general. So with no real time to test, he did good. I think he will do just fine on the ClubMX bike. It's really not a drop off.

I think he was told going in that it was only temporary. They knew at least Stew was supposed to come back. So while I agree with you, at least he knew that going in.

Today at noon EST, Yamaha shows the new-gen 450. So we will see what Eli will ride to defend his SX title on. Supposedly it's just the 450 for '23 and the 250 in '24. So that gives me time to decide if I want one in '24 lol.

I like the new yami. Looks like it is more bike than I'd ever need. Funny how many people on IG are talking crap on the bike.

I really like the Yamahas and hope to land one as my next bike. Those wheels are/have been hideous tho. Almost as bad as KTMs orange frames lol

The changes targeted exactly what most people wanted. Changing it too much would've been a mistake in my opinion, as the '20+ 450 is damn good already.

I respect your opinion. Funny thing is, before they started putting blue wheels on the bikes, stock, I had blue wheels on my 1 built up race bike. Ill post a pic tomorrow. So I'm a fan.

I like Orange KTM frames lol. And Husky white.

Pic as promised. My buddy always says that I started the trend, but clearly I didn't. Still funny though.

Chase looked good today. Really good.

The start for Unadilla looks so damn fun :bikewhoops:. Track also seems a lot more narrow than most others in the circuit.

Not too many people can take it to Tomac like that. Chase looked good. Granted, Unadilla is usually not Tomac's best track but still.

Eli almost seemed demoralized on how he was passed, though. Chase got by and gapped him real quick. Also stoked that Fernando ripped a hole shot moto 1 haha. I was hoping he'd too three, but glad JA21 is still racking up the points.

Happy for Jo. Moto 2 wasnt the greatest, but can't complain when that dude gets an overall. Jett had an off day for sure. JCoop put on a hurtin in Moto 2 as well. His overall is coming soon me thinks.

@AJH387 do you have any inside Intel on the Deegan situation now that we've had over a week to let it marinate?

I do not. A bunch of people that I work with were down there but I have not heard anything beyond what is out there. And honestly even if I did I wouldn't trust it because the people I work with would be more in damage control mode on the side against the kid. Cooksey and MX Factory have interviews with the kid that claimed the bike, along with his engine builder (who was with him for most of the drama.) All of that seems legit. The initial rumblings of what happened were all consistent with their story. Weege and Matthes initially downplayed it, in my opinion. But now that the kid has spoken, it's pretty obvious that their story is legit.

Kid went there knowing he was going to claim the most talked about bikes in a while, from 1 of the most hyped Am riders. You know that you are making waves no matter what lol. He didn't care and wanted the bike. And he was pressured and intimidated until he dropped the claim. Total BS. Honestly he would've been better off just sticking to his guns and keeping it. Because he would still be in a position of power. Now he has no bike but still faces all of the negative fall-out. I feel bad for him.

Agree. Pingree and Langston had a good little take on it yesterday as well. Sounds like they put the kid in a room with one of Cooksey's lawyers and made him rescind the claim that way, essentially making any future legal action null.

How it was handled is BS. The crowd now thinking little Deeg isn't a solid rider is also BS. Just a bad look for the industry altogether, especially with an insanely popular family (for better or worse). Guess it's put up or shut up time for Deeg at Ironman now.

Any link to the Ping segment? I'd like to listen to that. And I assume you meant a room with Cotter, not Cooksey.

Agree on Deegan. It sucks that it hurts his/their image but that comes with the territory. Star did an interview a month or 2 back with Pingree (when he rode the bike etc) and they said straight up that they had run pro motors before in Am bikes at Lorettas but now no longer do it. So it's kind of ironic that they got called out on it and there was obviously at least something in that bike that they didn't want getting out. In B class, besides, which is hilarious. So as much as I liek Star, Deegan etc they brought it all on themselves. And the Deegan family, while great for the sport in some ways, do basically think they can do whatever they want. So I don't feel bad for them for getting knocked down a peg. Rules are rules and they should apply to everyone. Shouldn't be exceptions just because you are famous or have money etc. And clearly MX Sports, Star and Yamaha went over the top to protect Deegan and the bike and the rule is supposed to be a no questions asked type of thing.
