July headline CPI 8.5%, down from 9.1% in June. Headline is 0% MoM, which may be the biggest thing in this report.

Less Food and Energy 0.3% MoM, down from 0.7% last month and tied with March 22 for lowest this year. 5.9% YoY.

All encouraging signs. Expect the market to drop 12% across the board

Jokes aside though this is a bullish as fuck print. Gently letting the air out of the balloon over 8-12 months would be the ideal result and this could be the start given that energy costs are what nosedived.

The fact that employment and the market have largely shrugged off modest rate increases are just extra icing on the cake. If disinflation occurs from here forward then the economy is firing on all cylinders again.

I agree, and I'm about 50% cash for right time to buy in, ever since the covid crash, the market actions overall has been a bit harder to read.

 

I went all in back in June. Even rebalanced out of my Gold holdings (sorry @Iwilltaco ). I'm 70 VTI, 15 VNQ, 15 SPYD since mid June.

Ill rebalance a little more conservative when we set a new ATH. Until then, time to add 5 or 6 years worth of gross income to the stack.
