Only 7K miles give it a chance before you sell it .
Why loose money. Even though they sell for a lot these days you will overpay for something else
At least you know what you have. Something to think about . You can always sell it

I am thinking if I could for $42500 for it I would sell it. I would get it professionally detailed, and could deliver it anywhere for the cost of a plain ticket home. I live in Durango Colorado. Happy to take it to be inspected if someone is seriously interested.

That's a cool shell, what is it?

Also what do you not like about the trail specifically?

Its an ARE overland series shell, it is pretty cool b/c it has an internal frame system so it can carry extra weight. As for the Trail package, its awsome for what it is. Definitely a nice alternative to the offroad package, because you get a regular vacuum brake booster instead of the electric over hydraulic brake booster they use to do all the silly trail control type stuff, but you still get a locker and a nice riding lift. It really is a nice riding truck. What I don't like is the transmission programming. Shifts all the time in the mountains. It really needs lower gears, and if I do that I will probably do a front locker, and at that point I am thinking why didnt I just get an SR without any bling and spend the extra 7 grand on a OME lift, eaton E-Lockers and 4:88 gears. I don't "need" sweet looking wheels, or color matched bumpers, or blind spot monitoring, or auto high beams. But a rear locker in 2wd would be nice, and lower gears seem to be mandatory with the little 3.5 at 10,000'

Fair enough, all great info. Reason I ask is I’m picking up my trail edition tomorrow LOL. The strongest arguments I saw against the trail were along what you said, why pay 40k when you could buy an SR and drop less than 10k into and make it an absolute beast!

Have you considered a tune? Or does high altitude negate the benefit

Either way, I guarantee someone out there will snap up a white trail edition like yours for msrp or more. Toyota really knew what they were doing with this package, it’s hot hot hot, everywhere I looked people were lining up out the door for ‘22 trail allocations - must be the rear locker!

A tune would also be a big help from what I understand. And some rear add a leafs. A bit more squat than I prefer.

Free bump. I’ve had my ‘22 trail now for 5 days and I’m so in love with it. Hope yours can find a new home!

Awesome! Glad you got your truck. If mine is still mine by winter I will probably push forward with the tune, regear and front locker.

Bump, somebody is tired of waiting for their new truck to show up. Only 7k on the clock and like 6 months old.

Bump. It has 8k on it now. $42000 as it sits, $40500 if I keep the shell and seat covers. Really want a 14 or 15 SR, SR5, or Sport with low miles, willing to part trade.
