Yeah, we're heading to the Seafood Shak at 4, then over to the high school . They are having a meeting about raising money for this year's under privileged kids basketball ball teams. Gonna go see what I can do for them.

Used to love going to Roses back in the day. For a few year stretch they had surplus M1 Garand's that had never been issued, still had oem grease like they were getting shipped to the European theatre in the US military wooden crate for 49.99. That wouldve been about 25+ years ago. We were there every payday picking one or two up I remember that.

The highest we ever had was 37 people with the goal always being 40.

When I retired in June they were down to like 18 and one guy has to go to February for 30 years and then he's done.. another has to go one more year for 20 and he's done.

The new Chief they elected only has 7 years and everyone else is new to 3 years ish.. running in the 650 calls range from 1 station.

I liked helping the people but do not miss the BS one bit. I get bored and haven't found my groove yet but it's sad AF to me that 20 years and I haven't heard from a single one of them since I retired.

 

That is why I got out, too much BS. I don't miss it one bit, I miss seeing some of the people but that is it. I still see some of them every now and then though.

 

Boss had these stainless parts laser cut, had to add a small pocket for the mating piece to slide in.

 

We have a several guys that meet every now and then for lunch. We also attend some ball games around Greensboro and High Point. It's nice keeping up with the guys you spent most of your life around.

 

I’d rather not see people from work that much when I retire in a few years. I’m not a huge people person though lol. Guess that’s why I’m happy to move out into a rural area here shortly lol.
