Frame Buyback on a 1998 Tacoma

Hi folks. I own a 1998 Tacoma that last had the frame checked out in 2008 by the previous owner, and it passed. Because of the 15 years, I have until sometime in 2013 that the frame will be covered. My question is, I bought the truck in 2008, after the buyback program was in place (paid a pretty penny for the truck because of it). Am I still covered under this program, even if I bought the truck after the program began? Also, My previous Tacoma was a 1997 that Toyota bought back. Is there anything in their policy that states they will only buy back one truck due to a bad frame? This all may not even be an issue as I take care of my truck and try to rinse the frame and uncarriage ever chance I get in the winter, but many others took care of their trucks too and the frames still failed. Thanks.

 

the fact that you bought it after the program started will not be a problem. Not sure about you already having one bought back though.

There are some policies and procedures in place to prevent someone from turning the process into a personal small business, but you should be fine.

 

ya same here. i dont know what to do. if my frame is no good they will give me something like 10,650... paided 6200 last september. i know anyone else would die for this but it means more than that to me(my first truck and worked my ass of for it). but on the other hand thats a lot of money...

So what are the policies and procedures that are in place? I know that some people would try to buy and then turn in 10 of these trucks, but it took me months to find a good one, and if it were to fail, it would really bum me out anyway. Are the policies that you spoke of in writing anywhere? I have heard other people wonder about this as well, but I have never seen anything.
