Shop Time w/T.W. Friends

Several times they came over and pushed me around in my wheelchair when I was sick. It was the only way I could get outside. My wife wasn't strong enough to push me.

 

I see two brothers I grew up with who live near us from time to time, that's it. I don't hang out with anybody other than my wife and kids.

I'm definitely a home body , but I need to see somebody besides my wife every now and then.

 

Cat woke us up at 5:15 this morning, I got up and went out in the shop until 6:15 then opened the store. I'm okay being by myself from time to time

 

I have the same routine every day. Get up , make coffee , walk the dogs , take my neighbor his mail and paper and make sure he's ok.

My entire working life was spent helping people -- mostly out of disasters they created themselves... I'm tired.

If I don't have any business to conduct I can go days without speaking to anyone other than Mrs Green.

Quiet and I get along just fine.

 

Decided yesterday to check my spare tire. Not as strong as I used to be , so it was a little bit of a struggle. Sure enough, it was flat. Pumped it up and checked for leaks , all good. When I re- installed it , I turned the valve stem to the bottom so it's easier to check. Then I signed up for AAA.

 

Volunteer firemen are a different breed.. we come together to help those in need, share blood, sweat and tears and go home until it's time to do it again. We see people on the worst days of their lives, sometimes the last day... and you have bonds with your fellow firemen... it's different than a paid department and the military in that we're not stuck around them long periods of time.

Hard to explain I guess. Perhaps I am seeing their silence wrong or something.

 

Finished up that thin 416 plate yesterday and onto the next..

Couple Mill Ops after coming over from the lathe on this guy. 5-Axis in this Collet vise so I can get these side and angle holes, then over to the 3-Axis to get the backside chamfers, deep thru hole, and timing mark.

 

Re poll. I can handle people for a short period of time. But , I also like to be at home by myself.

Well, I ordered a service grade M1 from the CMP 2 years ago, $750. I just sent in and order for some expert grade ones, $1100 each. I bet a never issued one would fetch many thousands to the right person.

 

I dont care for big crowds never did. Going to store is enough pain. Wife doesnt really care to be around anyone either. I think shes more anti social than me

 

Re: poll, I hate crowds of strangers. The wife signed me up to take the dog to obedience school for the month of august. If she said right now “I’ll hit you square in the face and you won’t have to go” I’d already be on the ground

 

I'm the same. I get a vibe that my former co workers feel insecure around me.

I'm they guy they call to fix shit that they feel they don't have the ability...or are just lazy. I dunno. I've been paid good and am happy being " me".

 

After finishing up that water heater swap, I decided to take my usual 2 mile hike.

During the walk, Google sends me an inquiry if I want review Builders Plumbing and Supply.

I was doing nothing but walking and listening to music and thought " why not?".

I quickly shit out the comment below.

I was extremely surprised that the owner responded to my review 5 minutes later.

I like to do reviews, but have never had an immediate response.

Color me impressed.
