I waited 4 months for mine, and it originally wasn't the truck I wanted lol. I wanted a 22' Army Green TRD OR DCSB 4x4 with a tech package + the LED lights. Every dealer I went to told me that it would be impossible to get a build like that. One dealer though had 22' Army Green TRD Sport 2WD DCSB on the way to the dealer. So I put my deposit on that instead. It came in sometime in late May and the truck was on the same carrier truck as the Trail Edition I got.

I asked my salesperson if the Trail Edition was reserved and they confirmed it was just a "first come, first serve," type of deal. I got the Lunar Rock Trail Edition instead of the 2WD Army Green TRD Sport 2WD DCSB I originally wanted.

From what my dealership told me, the Trail Edition is almost as "exclusive," as the TRD Pro. They've been struggling to bring in both trucks to their lot. I've been told I got the 3rd Trail Edition in my area lol. I don't know how true that part is though...

Congrats! It may be more spartan than the OR you really wanted, but I guarantee you’ll be happier you ditched the 2wd Sport and got a 4x4 SR5 with a locker! Even if you don’t get snow or go off-road, it’ll be way better for resale, or in an emergency like towing someone out of a ditch IMO…

Sometimes on dealer website it’s not apparent that it’s got the trail package. Look for a DCSB SR5 4x4 AT that’s listed around $41xxx msrp, that price alone will usually indicate it’s got the trail package included

    None....yet.
Was looking for a truck for the past year or so and started more seriously looking the last month. Had this white trail edition come in to the dealer near me and jumped on it. Upgraded 3" lift in the front 1" in the rear with upgraded Toyo tires and TRD skid plate.

Unfortunately with my luck I had my driver side door open and hit the garage opener in my pocket and it came down onto the driver side door, small hairline scratch at the very top crease of the door, already ordered touch up paint to fix it. At least it is in a completely unnoticeable spot and even not touched up cant be seen with the door closed. But I don't want it to spread so will be touching up as soon as the paint comes in this week.

Hello everybody! Traded in my Ranger for a Trail yesterday. Very different trucks. Very pleased with the Tacoma thus far. I've had 3 Ram 1500's then the Ranger now the Trail, so I'm all over the map. I wasn't aware that there were multiple (3?) Trail packages to choose from. Mine doesnt have turn signals in the mirrors or running boards, yet has a locking tail gate. It's an absolutely beautiful truck, no question. Stance is right on the money for what appeals to me in a pickup truck.
I had to hunt all over CA to find one on lot that wasn't buried in a markup mess, this was marked up but less than many other dealers I'd spoken with. One quoted the price as $63+K but was willing to let it go for $61+K. Insane where the market is at currently. Only upside is I received $30k for my Ranger. Which....... is also pretty nuts.....

Congrats on finding one amidst the mess that is the taco market! Looks awesome and I dare say way meaner than the ranger. Onward and upward!

They had a green trail that I passed on the week before because I was really chasing white, checked inventory on Toyota.com and saw a white trail and inquired with my dealer and the next morning he texted me a picture that they had snagged it….I lucked out that they had chose that one a few months before. So happy to have grabbed it!

Took my truck camping and on the trail again, this time with a roof rack which was super helpful carrying some bulky items up there because of the trail boxes taking up space.

Congrats. That is a great looking truck.

And yes, the current market is ridiculous.

I just bought my 22 MGM Off Road for very slightly over MSRP and got 2.9% for 60 months and I feel like I did well. Despite it being probably the worst deal I have ever made on a vehicle!

Just spoke to a dealer and they are starting to get allocations for the 2023 trail edition. Apparently 2023 will also be available in midnight grey metallic. Not sure what that will look like with the bronze appearance package… Could be cool, but probably won’t look as good as the AG, LR, or white. Not sure if any other standard colors will come into the trail edition mix. Everything else remains the same for the 2023 trail package, MSRP will go up a little as well, according to dealer I spoke to. He couldn’t say by how much exactly. Sounds like the first build date for 2023s will be mid September?

You misread. One dealer quoted me $63K. That is not the dealer I gave my business too. The mark-up on mine was $3k 'market adjustment' then were was a total of $4k dealer add-ons such as paint protection, locking tailgate, and some other overpriced addition.
I believe all said and done, tax / title / license / mark-ups I was around $51,500 drive off.

Really is nuts. In 2018 I bought a new Ram Rebel (4x4, adjustable air suspension, 5.7 Hemi etc.) for $53K. The one year used with 8K miles 2021 Ranger I had prior to the Trail was almost $40k out the door. Im not planning on truck shopping again for a loooooong long time.
