I've been waffling getting the Four Roses single barrel. I want to say it's around $50-$60 here. If I find regular 4R too sweet, would you think I would enjoy the single barrel?

Not who you asked but: Honestly probably not. It's the sweetest bourbon I've ever had, beating every wheater I've ever tried.

Totally agree w/ @jandrews. If you don't like the regular 4R you probably won't like this one haha. I love sweeter bourbons, which is why the 4R SiB is one of my favorites. Try it at a bar though, maybe you'll like it.

That's probably why I haven't like the few wheated bourbons I've had.

Lunch break bourbon run. Found this little out-of-the-way ABC store that seems to always have Eagle Rare. Scooped up another one.

I’ve never had Basil Hayden’s and I’ve heard good things about the BH Toast. It showed up on shelves around here two weeks ago and stock is dwindling down so I grabbed a bottle.

I’ve been out of Maker’s Mark and Blade & Bow for a while so I re-upped.

RR10 ran out last week, priority restock.

I almost re-upped my Widow Jane but I think I’ve spent enough.

Also, found out the truck now comes on Friday so I’ll be changing my weekly bourbon hunt to Fridays.

Not whiskey but very smooth and delicious rum. A friend went to the Dominican Republic and brought this back for me. It's aged for 8 years.

My buddy grows a ton of peppers and makes vinegar based “pepper sauce.” I knew I had kept this bottle for pretty much this exact reason so I decided to have a go on my own. After the pic I poured in some boiled vinegar (rice wine in my case) and a pinch of salt. Let it stew for a few weeks and you’re good to go…supposedly lol. My first run so we shall see

If you use heated or boiled vinegar you shouldn’t have to wait very long at all, maybe a day or two. You really only have to wait longer if you pickle in room temperature vinegar.
