I told ya I'd drive home a PRO over this! 2 cylinders failed leak down test. Only 16K miles.

Yardman is made by MTD. They would buy the engines from B&S, but everything else they made. I've worked on MTD made snow blowers and they are craptastic. Cub Cadet snowblowers are also MTD made and the one I worked on for a friend fell apart after 5-6 years.

I couldn't tell you the actual models. One is my elderly neighbor's. I cut out his yard for him so he can use his zero turn. Sometimes I just use my Toro because I hate his so much. Guessing it's late 90s, early 2000s.

Second one was my FILs. He bought it new in 2013. He wasn't able to mow, so in a sense he bought it for me to use on his yard. When he passed I immediately sold it.

Both units were cumbersome. The RWD lay out made them not very maneuverable. And those damn handle controls......jeez. I just want to grab a lever and go. Not on Honda. You have to pull this, push that, squeeze this thingy. Just stupid.

I'll stick to my Toros and Troy-Bilts with B&S engines.

@Delta09 . Adam swears the newer Hondas are much better.

Pics of Britany if possible. Just kidding!
Been following through this since the beginning. Here's to hoping you have no issues from now on!
As far as Totota Quality, I have owned Toyotas since 1976. There has6 definitely been a slow down turn as far as quality. They are still ahead of the competition as far as reliability. Business top dollar is where it is now.
The old days of Japanese respect for what they build has gone away..(for the most part, Veh. Built in Japan still seem to have better quality)..Much like some American built quality going away once they went to cheaper labor.

This is one I bought in ‘98 I think? Back when B&S was made where it isn’t now.

Had a good laugh at this one, I bet Blackie would do this

My parents have a 2007 or 8 Elentra, bought new in summer 2007. My mom drove it the first few years and put almost no miles on it. About 2 years ago the transmission went. I want to say it had about 85-90K miles at the time. Despite being well out of 10 years (and they didn't get an extended warranty), Hyundai gave them a new transmission free.

    UPDATE....
Picked up the Truck yesterday as scheduled. They had the truck parked in front of the Service Department.
I walked the truck with Brittny my Service Rep and found no scratches or dings.
The truck had been fully detailed inside and out. I popped the hood.
There was no evidence I could find of the truck ever being repaired.
I have bought several new vehicles from this Dealership. And I get all my service done there.
But I did not buy this truck here. Reason being they would not budge off MSRP on a Pro.
I bought it new at another Dealership about 20 miles away for $3,500 under MSRP.

But Kudos to Vann York Toyota in High Point for my experience so far.
    • Truck retuned with no scratches, dents/dings
    • 12 days in the shop
    • Loaner provided with no hassle at no cost
    • No evidence of repairs
    • Truck fully detailed inside/out before retuned
    • 100% free of charge.

Totally agree. Let them drive it and see that all is well and no codes pop up. When I had an engine replaced in my Dodge Dakota (long story for another time) I got the same type of call from the dealer in the morning, and they said they wanted to run it / drive it during the day and asked me to come in late afternoon for it. Why would I say no? I’d rather not take it home and then notice something was wrong over a weekend or the like.

I bought the truck at Rice Toyota due to selling it to me below MSRP.
But this is Vann York Toyota who has been my Dealer of Choice for many years.

While sales at Vann York might be sad that you bought elsewhere, the service department is more than happy to serve your warranty and non warranty needs. In the long run, parts and service make way more for the stores than sales.
